Someone explain, in clear non bias english why the hell Ross Perot was able to more-or-less break in the 1992 Presidential Election race? George GW Bush, for all intensive purposes would have won without Perot soaking up GOP votes with his pie charts. Bush's family has deep roots into even deeper pockets...

or was Ross Perot allowed to be there to give us the impression that ANYONE really CAN run for president?

Reading his wikipedia page (shut up, it's a valid source) he sounds like exactly what this country would have wanted...

I think he truly believed in what he was trying to do.
He didn't actually cost the GOP the election (contrary to conventional wisdom).

Rather than asking why the GOP allowed him, I want to know why the GOP wasn't all over this deficit thing in the first place.
I don't think either party or the media should be allowed to exclude anybody. It's our election, not theirs.

Perot may have been a bit of a crackpot, but he was absolutely 100% DEAD ON regarding NAFTA.

I remember the charts and the giant sucking sound of jobs. I voted for him and he lost, but he was right. Romney was right too.
