What if Cassell throws a pick in the first quarter? Who is going to take over?

Not much different than blaming cans if you ask me.

I guess you have to do something. It's a desperate move but they're a desperate team and he's a desperate coach. Just make sure you have the guts to follow through on your threats or the players will lose all respect for you.

at that point romeo crennel is going to hold a bunch of sticks and whoever pulls out the shortest one gets to play qb

May not be a problem against our D anyway. Turnovers are still not our strong suit.

He kind of went a little half assed about it. He said he would pull players out for a play or two not for the game. No big deal with a RB or even a receiver. He also said if there's a pick it's not automatically going to be blamed on the QB. Worst case scenario for them is tht they'll pull Cassel for one play. A series at most. Seems like just a motivating tool without a huge downside. If by some miracle it produces results then he looks like a genius and maybe gets to keep his job.

Maybe we'll get lucky for once.

Does anybody really take "Grimace" Crennel seriously at this point?

I respect him as a defensive coordinator but not so much as a head coach. I think he gave Gibbs the wrong one of his jobs.
