It shows a time-lapse view of unemployment rates by county for the last couple of years...
I wonder if the actual picture is worse than that link depicts, because of the way unemployment is counted. Here, when someone exhausts their unemployment benefits, they are deemed to be "discouraged workers," rather than unemployed, and are dropped from the statistics. Of course, we do have many who have genuinely become discouraged workers, those who have given up hope of finding gainful employment, some of whom are simply choosing to live off the goodness and hard work of others.
