Jahvid Best still not cleared to play

The Lions issued a statement early Monday night: “After today’s consultation with medical experts, including representatives from our medical and training staffs, it has been determined that Jahvid will not be permitted to return to play at this time,” Lions General Manager Martin Mayhew said.

Where in that article did it say he was done for the year? The title of this thread may be a bit misleading

Best is one of those guys who needs to quit playing football before he gets seriously messed up for the rest of his life. Ever since he was at Cal, he's just had a ton of concussions, and bad ones too. Getting his head driven into the ground, helmet flying one way, ball flying the other, puking all over the place. After the first one below, it definitely seemed like his overall game was affected permanently, and from that point on, he also seemed to get concussions a lot more frequently (and more severe) than anyone could think is normal. Seriously, dude. It sucks to be that unlucky, but it's not worth it.
