Sorry this is late again guys. Very busy week. Today was one of those days where you don't get to eat until 4 PM.

"Hi Alex,

Here is your check for the last editoral. Great job!
Hugs,
Marriane"

First Half

- Rainey starting KR, Will Johnson upback.

- Surprising to see a Jet sweep on 3rd and 9 but it worked with Brown. Great block from Miller.

- 18 yard reception by Wallace on first drive. Eight man front, Power O playaction to bring the LBs up. FS squats, and even though Wallace takes an inside release, Cromartie and Landry open up expecting something deep. Wallace breaks route off to curl and makes the catch.

- Great manipulation by Ben on Will Johnson 26 yard catch. First, good playcall. Three defenders to 2 TE side, motion Antonio Brown from backfield to opposite side. Causes the SS to shit to that side to cover Brown and the FS that was heavily shaded to the two TE side to become the single high. Two pictures to show that, pre and post motion.

So now we have a 2x2 to the TE side. Ben pumps curl to Miller, causing the DB and LB to collapse on him. Johnson becomes wide open in the flats and it's a 26 yard gain. Two more pics, one from up top and one from end zone view.

- Chris Carter, Big Snakc, started game at OLB and NT respectively.

- 45 yard catch by Jeremy Kerley down the seam. Looks like Cover 3 (zone under, three deep) but Ike is in man coverage on Holmes. It looks like Cortez Allen is in zone playing a hook zone, reading curl/flat. If that's all correct, then Keenan Lewis, at the bottom of the following pictures, should sink with any vertical route from #1 or #2. Picture of pre-snap formation.

The issue here is the Jets run a smash seam. No 1 receiver Stephen Hill runs a curl with Kerley running a "go" down the seam. Keenan bites and takes a step up on Hill's curl route. Immediately after seeing curl streaking deep, he bails but is already trailing and just has to hope he can prevent the TD. He luckilly does but the damage was done. Picture of Lewis biting.

And Lewis trying to recover.

- Holmes' TD. Single high safety with Clark, playaction sucks him up, Ike opens gate to Holmes, easy pitch/catch on the slant.

- Redman's 13 yard run. Well blocked but still 1 v 1 with LB. Steps in/then out, loses the 'backer and skirts away for a first. Will Johnson also pancaked LaRon Landry that play.

- Baron Batch with great cut block on Brown's 18 yard backshoulder catch. Brown vs Lankster is a tasty matchup. Much better than him vs Revis.

- Statue of Liberty to Rainey to end first quarter. DE did enough to contain edge, nickelback didn't follow Brown in motion away from play. Their defenders outnumbered our blockers, who have to try to sell the play going to the bubble screen to Brown.

- 4-2-5 on 3rd and 3, 13:51 left in 2nd. Keisel, Ziggy, Heyward, Hamp as your four down lineman. Foote and Timmons at LB. Cortez at the nickel.

- Great job by Clark to break up Hill corner near goalline. I think very few guys in the league could do what he did. Opens his hips when Hill stems to the post but is able to flip and take the correct angle when Hill breaks to the corner. Love having him in the lineup just as much as Troy.

- Real nice grab by Dwyer on his 12 yard catch. Adjusted to low throw and picked up the first.

- So many remarkable things to talk about on 3rd and 3 catch by Cotchery at the goalline. Ben eludes a blitzing Landry, steps up, keeps his eyes downfield, and finds Cotch. Cotch keeps working his way across the field, finding the soft spot in zone, and makes the catch despite getting lit up by Bell.

- Heath Miller TD. Landry blitzes, pitch and catch between Miller and Ben. LB has no chance of catching up to Heath.

- Speaking of him, Heath had a field day on DBs in the open field on screens. Had to have had two or three pancakes.

- Second Half

- Brandon Johnson got a few snaps at ILB after it looked like Foote got nicked up.

- Nice job by Rainey on his 13 yard PR to plant, get upfield and pick up a healthy gain.

- Ben somehow able to stay upright with David Harris draped all over him on Wallace's TD. Still amazes me.

- Lot of 3 TE sets to one side throughout the game. Miller, Pope. Paulson.

- Isn't this a wedge on the Jets' kick return? Looks pretty borderline.

- Tim Tebow (bleh...I know) run. Three players guessed to the wrong side. Hood, Timmons, and blitzing Mundy. With the pulling RG, the Jets have five blockers to four "in position" defenders for the Steelers. Picture.

- Woodley came this close to stripping Sanchez. Jets punted on this drive anyway so I guess it was kinda a moot point but still...

- Van Dyke, Brown, gunners.

- Little things on special teams that are nice to see. Ike working as a jammer, pushes gunner Trufant out of bounds, he touches the ball first and gets a 5 yard penalty.

- Dwyer takes a hit from Ben, trying to pick up "A" gap blitz while Ben tries to avoid sack.

- We love stacking our WRs to back DBs off. Create natural separation, lot of route combinations (levels, corner route).

- Appeared to be miscommunication on blocking assignment on this run play between Miller and Will Johnson. Miller motions to Johnson's side but both attack the ILB. No one picks up the OLB McIntrye and he drops Redman for a two yard loss. Still work to do, obviously.

- What a job by Brown to hold onto 3/2 catch mid-way through 4th. Took a big hit from Landry. Helped lead to TD.

- Split Heath out wide on that drive vs safety Bell. Mismatch, 10 yard catch, first down.

- Dwyer ran hard on that drive.

- Also used a ton of those 3 TE sets. Lots of double teams on the DL> Usually two and then a combo block b/w playside guard and center.

- Kudos to Greg Warren for special teams tackle on 3 yard PR. Gotta show some love to the long snapper.

- Ike spent a good chunk of the game in man coverage vs Holmes and didn't always have safety help (think isolation with a 3x1 set with Holmes away from core of the formation). He gets a lot of flack from people (looking at you Stephen A. Smith) but big ups to any guy that holds a player that talented in Holmes to just 3 catches for 28 yards.

- I know Nick Mangold is one of the best pivot's around, but Hampton really struggled against him. Got to the point where Hampton wouldn't even be chipped. McClendon outplayed him.

- D'Brickishaw Ferguson is also a top LT but Chris Carter/Jason Worilds were awfully quiet Sunday.

- Colon still adjusting to life at guard. Still has trouble picking up stunts (though getting better) and is on the ground more than you'd like when he tries to pull. But he does a nice job when it all comes together.

- Baron Batch with an excellent job in pass protection all game.

Sacks

- 3rd and 1, 9:44 left in the first. Shotgun, 11. 5 blockers vs 5 rushers. TEX stunt that may have been picked up but Pouncey is knocked over by slanting McIntyre. #50 able to stay on his feet and take Ben down.

- 2nd and 8, 8:48 left in 2nd. 21. Powe O PA. 6 v 4. Screen to Will Johnson sniffed out, Ben eats it. Coverage sack.

- 1st and 10, 9:39 left in 4th. 12. 5 + block/release vs 4. Starks can't get his hands on McIntrye, doubles over. Gets beat despite chip from Redman.
