Antarctic sea ice set another record this past week, with the most amount of ice ever recorded on day 256 of the calendar year (September 12 of this leap year). Please, nobody tell the mainstream media or they might have to retract some stories and admit they are misrepresenting scientific data.

National Public Radio (NPR) published an article on its website last month claiming, “Ten years ago, a piece of ice the size of Rhode Island disintegrated and melted in the waters off Antarctica. Two other massive ice shelves along the Antarctic Peninsula had suffered similar fates a few years before. The events became poster children for the effects of global warming. … There’s no question that unusually warm air triggered the final demise of these huge chunks of ice.”

NPR failed to mention anywhere in its article that Antarctic sea ice has been growing since satellites first began measuring the ice 33 years ago and the sea ice has been above the 33-year average throughout 2012.

Indeed, none of the mainstream media are covering this important story. A Google News search of the terms Antarctic, sea ice and record turns up not a single article on the Antarctic sea ice record. Amusingly, page after page of Google News results for Antarctic sea ice record show links to news articles breathlessly spreading fear and warning of calamity because Arctic sea ice recently set a 33-year low.

Sea ice around one pole is shrinking while sea ice around another pole is growing. This sure sounds like a global warming crisis to me.

Should open up shipping lanes nicely and increase efficiency.

By the way. I don't deny global warming's happening. I just don't know how much of it's because of man, (as opposed to natural causes) and how much is avoidable in a world of 6 billion people?

Also I think Global warming alarmists get rich over faulty science, and discredit actual science and scientist's who's work doesn't fit into their narrative

You can only fault them for reporting the facts as they are important to their cause. They did not report the increase in the ice size because that does not further their cause. Oops, what am I saying? Why would an IMPARTIAL journalistic organization only report half the story? Because they are not impartial.

I have absolutely no doubt that the Earth is warming up. I will even accept for the sake of argument that human intervention is at fault.

But not a single one of these liberals has ever claimed that any amount of authority or money will fix it.

Actually, I have heard NPR mention the antarctic ice before. There is a dramatic difference between sea ice and land ice. Antarctica is gaining sea ice, but losing land ice, so apparently it balances out. Or something.

I don't deny the Earth is warming, just worried that we crush business with unfunded mandates when these things tend to work themselves out. Two examples: After Mount St. Helens erupted, econuts told us the devastation would last 100 generations. It lasted about ten years. The other is all the carbon emission levels dropping to 1990 levels. Because of Al Gore and his army of whacko's? No, because fracking has made much cleaner natural gas abundant and reduced the need for other dirtier fossil fuels. Yeah, that's right, evil satanic fracking has lowered carbon emissions in this Country dramatically.

That, and most people on average are driving less because gas is almost 4 bucks a freaking gallon...

But there are still more cars and more people, and we actually consume more gas than we did 20 years ago. However, the cars are cleaner and more efficient. Some of that is attributable to environmentalists, but much of it is also market-driven.

And I don't think I need to explain why there are so many econuts who are trying to get fracking banned, even though technology has dramatically reduced any negative impact - real or imagined - on the environment. And I have yet to hear any of these clowns come up with an alternative to getting the gas out of the ground.

Also, I believe the Earth is warming, but it's more because of natural processes, mainly thermohaline circulation patterns, than man-made impact. Even if the opposite is true, why don't these econuts go after countries like China who are far, far, FAR worse polluters than the U.S.
