I haven't seen a thread yet on Sunday's game prediction, so I thought I'd throw one out there.
I think it's going to be a nail biter, and with being the 1st game I think there will be big mistakes on both teams. There will be plenty of rookie mistakes and of course really bad calls coming from the scab refs.. Home field will benefit Denver of course because they will have the 12th player in crowd noise. Ben will have his normal 1 or 2 interceptions and will make some plays with his normal scrambling for his life. Harrison will be missed. I don't feel real good about this games outcome, but being a true Black/Yellow ( GOLD), gonna have to stay with the Steel. Steelers 24 Denver 21

Offense struggles a bit (NOT Haley's fault, Oline to blame), defense plays well but gives up some cheap ones, Steelers lose a close one, something like 24-17 or 28-21.

Hope I'm wrong...

I think the black & gold will win this game because of Ben 34-24. Plus a healthy Ben could be the difference. I know without Ryan Clark & James Harrison it will be tough but, it is time for some of the young guys to step up and deliver. I think Rainey will have a big impact on this game as well.

27-24 Denver. The First night of Peyrons return, the home Denver crowd, the altitude...too much to handle
For the Steelers here.

Hate to say it but I think Denver pulls this one out. I'll say 24-20, Broncos.

I going to go out on a limb here and say that Pittsburgh players will remember how they were BEAT by Baltimore in their first game last season. This time, it's the Steelers who come out pounding, and Peyton tries to play catch-up for three quarters. Our defense comes up with a few picks.

Steelers 31 Broncos 16

Damn, where's the blind homerism? Screw the Donkeys. Carter in on an early passing down bounces pencil neck off the turf and Rookie Brock whoever tosses way too many INTs, Steelers 31-20

There's this thing called "reality," and the reality is that the Steelers have a lot of holes that can be exploited by the Broncos tonight. Plus it being Peyton's return to action on national TV, and it's the perfect storm. I can't see the Steelers winning this one.

Steelers 38 - Broncos 16

Manning shows rust from not playing meaningful football for a year, and the Steelers defense gives him a rude welcome back to the NFL.

I don't know about the score, but I don't think Manning will come out for the 2nd half. 3 sacks, and a whole bunch of knock downs in the first half.

If I had to choose a time to play Peyton Manning this season the first game of the season would definitely be my choice. He hasn't played a regular season game in over a year and a half and while he looked good in the pre-season, regular season speed is increased a bit.

I look for the Steelers to get after him early and often and jump out to an early lead, however Denver gets settled in and keeps it a close game.

Steelers 20-17

Brown scores the first TD. 61 yard TD reception.

It's hard to predict this one. I think the scoring will be low because of the new Steelers offense AND the "new" Donkos QB (the OL has to protect him). I HOPE the Steelers can win 17-14 :noidea:
