Vince Young is on the way out in Buffalo.
Although Young’s release hasn’t been officially announced by the Bills, he wrote a farewell message on Twitter on Monday morning.
“I want to thank the Bills organization for the opportunity and wish the organization and my teammates good luck this season,” Young wrote. “Respect Bills fans.”
When the Bills decided to acquire quarterback Tarvaris Jackson in a trade from the Seahawks, it was a clear sign that Young would be sent packing. With Ryan Fitzpatrick as the starter and Jackson as the new No. 2, there’s really no reason for Young to be on the roster.
The third overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft, Young has had moments of brilliance as an NFL quarterback but has also had moments when he looked totally incapable of running an NFL offense. Young has talent, but he’s going to have a tough time finding any team that thinks he’s a good fit.

Vince Young, one of the NFL's bigger draft busts
He is definitely a bust. However, I wouldn't call him one of the biggest in NFL history. He did have some success early in his career - and there are other highly touted college players (see - Ryan Leaf looking out his prison cell window) who never had any success.

Vince Young, one of the NFL's bigger draft busts
Yes he sucks, but there are much worse draft picks than him. Jemarcuss Russel is probably the worst. The Raiders passed on Megatron and Adrian Peterson and picked Russell #1 overall. Worst. Draft Pick. Ever.
Vince Young, one of the NFL's bigger draft busts
I remember before that draft that I did a Mock in which I predicted that Jay Cutler would end up being a MUCH better QB than either Matt Leinhart or Vince Young..........Its not even close.

Honestly, if I was Vince Young, I'd pick up the phone and give Warner a call, ask to sit down and have coffee with him. Then, I'd pick his brain about going to play in the arena league. After a couple years there, I'd tell my agent to give me a chance to get back into an NFL camp.
He's not doing anything for himself now. He has talent, but he can't put it to use. He needs time to develop, and the window is closing VERY quickly.

Considering where he was drafted, Vince Young is a bust. Another Kordell Experiment gone nowhere. When will people stop falling for the highlight reel running QB who can't throw?
Hope Cam Newton and RGIII doesn't fall into this trap, for their sake.
The 2006 QB Draft class is turned out to be really subpar. All of the top picks are no longer with their original teams.

Vince young's throwing mate was a more of a bust...limas. Funny how they won what I consider the best college championship games I have ever seen and now they are both considered huge busts. Hmmm

The report out of Buffalo is that Young just could not learn the playbook. His whole preseason was inconsistent and lacklustre.
The concern over Tavaris Jackson is the same. Will he be able to learn the playbook and be ready for the season?

It was a classy move on Vince Young's part to thank the Bills for the chance. And I hope he gets another chance somewhere, but I doubt he will.

Drafting is a dice roll. You never really know what's going to happen to a college player as soon as the spotlight hits him. Some organizations get too much criticism for drafting a "bust" when, with all that was possible to know at the time, it was a good pick.
