And so it begins.

Two hundred days since Te-bowing out of the playoffs in Denver with one of the most out-of-nowhere losses in their 80-season history, and 46 days before they return there to welcome Peyton Manning to the Broncos, the Steelers start anew Wednesday by opening training camp at St. Vincent College in Latrobe.

For a team with an age-old problem – one of the oldest NFL defenses in history a year ago, the Steelers are only slightly younger this season — there is much new to embrace, to ponder, to evaluate during their three-plus weeks of old-style camping. They are the only one of the four AFC North teams that still packs up big-screen TVs and jumbo-sized pillows to camp out in a college dormitory.

This didn’t seem to lessen James Harrison’s enthusiasm to get back to work — on his Twitter account, he’s been counting down the hours to reporting time.

Maybe he’s eager to see all that’s changed. There’s a new offensive coordinator in Todd Haley, with a new system and a new approach, potentially two new offensive line starters in David DeCastro and Mike Adams, a different starting cornerback and running back.
