A 2nd round pick on a guy who sat out all of last year? That seems to be a little high, granted the Browns needed a weapon for their aging rookie QB.

This is not a surprise. They are weak at WR, but even NOW they reached, since this guy was a 3rd round talent at best due to multiple drug charges and off-field issues.
HOWEVER, many in the local media here think he's the second coming because of his size and speed.
There's a reason they finish last and we win Super Bowl's...
His career is already over before it even started.
This should be a warning to all college players. Straighten up and don't do drugs or your will go to Cleveland...in the supplemental draft. That's worse than stepping in a fresh pile of dog shit in bare feet.

Great pick up by the Browns. He probably wouldve been a second rounder he's that good.

This should get the Browns to the promise land:

Just curious why this thread was even started if this guy had no potential.

The kid has plenty of potential. He screwed up at a religious school that has a zero tolerance policy. Could be a really good pick for the Stains.

I heard they want him to contribute right away but those are high expectations for a guy who hasn't played football in a year.

I agree. That's asking a bit much. He's a little raw to contribute right away. Its not like they have an All-Pro QB though, so it may not be too much of a gamble to throw him in right away. That's one heck of a work load though.

A) He has a LOT of baggage, and may be a headcase
B) Cleveland does not have a strong locker room
C) He now has millions of dollars
What could possibly go wrong?

I'm not sure, but I think this post *may* be a bit sarcastic. ;)

If he would have played this upcoming season at a lower level (D1AA/FCS) he would have probably been a second round pick. He went to a Christian college with a zero-tolerance policy and they kicked him out.
The Browns have watched a lot of video on him. Remember they drafted Phil Taylor in the 2011 draft, so they got video of Gordon then. Last year before the Redskins moved up to #2 to take RG3, the Browns were scouting him so they saw video of the kid then too.
This kid has the potential to be very, very good....or he could be a bust. I think they could have gotten him in the 3rd round.

And they showed a lot of interest in Kendall Wright.
Still, a 2nd round pick is very high. Hasn't happened since 2003.
