While on a tour in London to promote the NFL International Series, which continues at Wembley Stadium on October 28, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft expressed his desire to see an NFL franchise in London within the next 10 years.

"I personally think we should have a franchise in London and that is something I am going to push for," Kraft said via Neil Reynolds of Sky Sports. "I think I said that the last time we were over here in 2009 and before this next decade is out, I hope we have a team here. I think that would be right for the NFL and this fan base has proven they deserve it......

If Kraft wants a team over there, than I guess it's only a matter of time before it happens. :jerkit:

Because it's nothing but a logistical nightmare...

Robert Kraft and Goodell are both insane... but it would be interesting.

What's good about it? Besides the logistical problems it would cause that 86WARD already pointed out, NFL Europe should've proven that there isn't an audience for American football there, at least not on a regular basis. Yeah, they'll fill Wembley stadium for a one-off game once a season due to the novelty, but 8-10 times a year? Doubtful.

On second thought, I hope they do put a team in London and lose a shitload of money on it, like they did on NFL Europe. Maybe then assclown will be replaced as the commissioner once and for all.

But guys, I thought Roger Goodell was the only person in the world who wanted to play overseas!!

Now I'm no proponent of a permanent franchise being there myself. Like Ward said, it's a logistics nightmare. And it'd probably be a 10-15 year committment so if it doesn't work out, you're screwed.

One idea is to basically bring back NFL Europe. The USFL is trying to make a comeback and possibly as a true developmental league to the NFL. Put it there. Less risk if it doesn't work out and it can act as a guinea pig. If the fans respond positvely to that, then you can start thinking about an NFL franchise. Baby steps.

Now that big bob has spoken and thrown in how great this will be for fans you can expect to see a big push for this to happen. From bobs lips to godell's ears.

Can't get a team to stay permanently in L.A., and won't put a team in S.A. or any other so called small market area but they will seriously consider putting a team in London.

I'm with Franchise on this, hope it happens and fails miserably!!!

The NFL doesn't need another developmental league. It would be watered down with college and NFL castoffs and the product would be crap. Just like the NFL Europe was.

Bet Kraft wouldn't be so high on it if TE Patriots were the team to move to London...

London Patriots? Has a nice ring to it...

I don't see your point. This is Kraft we're talking about. They're basically the same person.

If he wants it so bad, maybe he can take his own sorry ass team to London and then lose so much money he has to sell it and move it to Los Angeles.
