As you might have heard, Maurice Jones-Drew would like to replace his existing contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Perhaps the Jags would re-think their stance if they knew they were playing hardball with a man who could one day be the rushing king.
Jones-Drew was asked Tuesday if he believed he could catch Emmitt Smith for the all-time rushing record.

I think it will be some day. Won't be in this type of game with all the RBBC and it will take a guy staying super healthy but I think it will happen one day.

I don't think so either, not with the emphasis on passing being what it is nowadays. Don't see many RBs toting the rock 30+ times a game anymore. There's going to have to literally be a sea change in the NFL back to an emphasis on running the ball coupled with a very special RB (think Walter Payton/Barry Sanders special) coming along who's durable enough to take the pounding for it to happen, and I just don't see it.
