In a statement issued through his agent today, Mr. Haggans said he wanted to "set the record straight" about his arrest. He wrote that he was attending a concert on April 21, 2011, when a babysitter called to say his five-year-old daughter was having trouble breathing.
Mr. Haggans wrote that he tried to find his wife, who was supposed to drive, but could not find her among the crowd.

Not so tough really, but alcohol clouded his judgement. The easy sober answer is "Call 911" He surely had a lot of choices, but I don't think 48hrs in jail is too steep a price to pay.

With my kids, I may have called 9/11, but I would need to be there myself no matter what. It's too bad he couldn't find someone to drive him or find his wife. But I agree, the punishment seems fair.

Umm why not just state hes a former Cardinal who played for the Steelers as well. I find it peculiar how that headline tries to bash the franchise.

Ya'll might be a bit too sensitive. The headline in question was in a Pittsburgh paper and he is serving his sentence in a Pennsylvania prison. I'd say it's quite relative to mention he's Ex steeler

I don't think it's bashing the Steelers so much as it's saying more or less that nobody gives a shit about the Cardinals. That and it's a PITTSBURGH paper providing the story.
