The Associated Press – Fri, Jun 8, 2012

Owings Mills, Md. (AP) Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs will get his entire $4.9 million salary in 2012 regardless of how he tore his Achilles tendon, team owner Steve Bisciotti said Friday.

Suggs sustained the injury in April. He insists it happened while he was running through a conditioning drill, but several witnesses say he was hurt playing basketball in Arizona.

Bisciotti doesn't care.

Classy move. Does it count against the cap?

He really has no choice. If you screw your player over by not paying him then it will come back on your 10 fold.

Bengal owner would have screwed the player, guaranteed.

Will the loss of Suggs impact the Ravens Defense anywhere near how the loss of Polamalu impacts the Steelers?

If it is a team player who has taken hometown discounts then I think it is the admirable thing to do.

If it is a me first player who only follows the almighty dollar....well then live by the sword die by the sword.

I would imagine Suggs is the former of the two.

Yes, it will.

If Suggs really did hurt his Achilles during a b-ball game and lied about it, I doubt he's the kind that would take the loyal hometown discount- money may be more important to him. I am honestly a bit touched by Bisciotti's generosity. I would even call it compassionate- whether Suggs deserves it or not. The sad thing is, like Chidi just said, it would count against the cap. All in all, Suggs better realize how classy of a move Bisciotti made and think twice now about putting too much stock on money over loyalty and gratefulness. Just my two cents.

He'd get traded somewhere if he were a Bengal.
