Jacksonville Jaguars’ rookie wide receiver Justin Blackmon was arrested in Stillwater Saturday night on charges of an aggravated DUI.
An aggravated DUI, according to Oklahoma law, is when the driver’s blood-alcohol level is .15 or more. Blackmon was brought in at 10 a.m. according to the Payne County Jail.
There aren’t any more details than that at the moment, but it’s definitely not a good sign for the former Oklahoma State wide receiver considering his DUI arrest in college. In 2010, Blackmon was arrested in Dallas on a misdemeanor DUI complaint. The arrest caused him to be suspended one game.
Blackmon was the fifth overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and has yet to sign his rookie contract with the Jaguars.

Can the league suspend him before he signs his rookie contract?
Seriously though this guy is a freaking idiot. I'm sure his agent would have given him an advance if he needed the money for a cab or limo!

Ya know, until one of these idiots has the entire career taken away from them for their behavior, it's simply not gonna sink in. At some point, someone will be made a big example of.

Sad to say, the fact that two NFL players who were found guilty of vehicular manslaughter were allowed to continue with their NFL careers tells me that day isn't coming soon.

#Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon blew a 0.24, per Stillwater police spokesman, three times the legal limit.

People just don't think. Not just him or other NFL players just people in general. It sickens me everytime I hear a story like this!
You aren't only putting your life in danger, but the lives of other people too. You drink you don't drive..its as simple as that.

The other night I went out with my girlfriend, she had a milkshake with alcohol in it and I didn't. Why? Because I was going to be driving afterwards.
How hard is it to call a cab? Hell, I am sure he knows enough people in the town he played college football in where he could have called a friend for a ride.

Because you wanted to get her drunk and .... uh never mind. Don't want to say something offensive. :heh:

He's such an idiot. A .24 at 10:00 AM? This is most likely the first of many incidents with him as a pro.
I was really glad that the Rams didn't draft him.

Sad really. Something wrong with this kid and I guess a mentor hasn't been able to connect with him.
1 or 2 drinks is one thing, but blowing .24 is outrageous. How did he even start the car? Thank God no one was hurt.

This isn't his first DUI. He was arrested for one a couple of years ago, I hope he isn't turning into or already is an alcoholic.

And what should be really scary and infuriating is the number of times he has probably done it without getting caught! I'm sorry but if you get caught doing it twice....it's not the only two times you've done it.

You got to be in pretty sorry shape to be brought in at 10 a.m. Not too many cops out gunning for DUIs at that hour.

It doesn't mean a whole lot but he was actually arrested at 3 A.M. The 10 AM report was incorrect.

The Jaguars need to wake up in regards to reevaluating the way they draft....How many of their Wide recievers have been headcases?
1) Matt Jones for Cocaine possession and multiple alcohol charges...
2) R.J. Soward went nuts at an amusement park and was also later arrested for domestic violence...
3) Reggie Williams was charged with possession of marijuana, then later arrested again and charged with DWI and possession of marijuana then was arrested on felony drug charges after scuffling with Houston police and being found with a bag of coke in his pocket.
4) Jimmy Smith ...who though was drafted by Dallas...was an original member of the Jaguars expansion team... was entered into the NFL's substance-abuse program in 2003, and in April of 2009 was arrested for multiple drug charges.

Like BND said how hard is it to call a cab or a friend for a ride? Makes no sense to me at all. Not a good way to start your NFL career.

Blackmon was previously arrested on a misdemeanor DUI charge in Texas in 2010 after officers caught him speeding on a suburban Dallas highway.
He told reporters after the arrest that he made a mistake and took full responsibility for it.
"I'm embarrassed to be in this position," Blackmon said. "I'm truly sorry to my family, to my friends and to Oklahoma State all together. I look forward to redeeming myself and proving to everybody that this isn't who I am. I'm not this guy. I'm humbled by this experience and I will grow from it."

ah, that makes a lot more sense. I was pretty amazed by that at first. Looking back at the original article, it says he was brought in to the jail at 10 a.m. - wonder if that was the reason for the difference. They could've spent a few hours dicking around at the police station before they could bring him there.

yup. If you have two DUIs already, that's more than most people get in their entire life. Hopefully he learns his lesson, but ... I'd feel more confident putting my money on the Browns to win the Super Bowl this year.

If he can function enough to walk and start a car at.24 , I'm guessing he drinks a lot quite regularly. Your average layman is laying on the floor or not even finding their car at those kind of BAC levels.
