Steelers Wide Receiver Jerricho Cotchery sat down with Joe Starkey of Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN at the start of OTA’s to talk about his desire to return with the Steelers and taking on the role of veteran leader for the teams young receiving core.

When it comes to the new offense that Offensive Coordinator Todd Haley is trying to install, Jerricho said Ben Roethlisberger was accurate in saying that it’s about 90 percent different from what they were used to under Bruce Arians. Jerricho also gave us some insight in what we may see different in this new playbook.............

I like Cotchery. I think he's going to have a long, underrated career with us.

Good interview. I'm glad we are going to have his veteran presence in our WR corps. He really seemed to come on strong at the end of the year, so lets hope he continues to become more comfortable with Ben and this offense.

Let's see, top 3 elite Mark Sanchez or #34 out of 32 QBs Ben Roethlisberger throwing to you. The choice is obvious. :chuckle:

Well, good. I also think the extra million a year we were able to dig up for him was key. For a guy in his situation, where he's made a fair amount of money playing football but was never really a "big money" guy, and the end of his career is in sight ... if we're offering the veteran minimum and the Rams or Redskins come calling with $2M a year, he probably listens. A good move by the front office all around.

Makes me even happier that we re-signed him.
