Have you ever wondered, what you would spend your money on if you had your first NFL check? I definitely do all the time and I don't even play Football. There are times where I wonder what the NFL players brought with their first NFL check. In my opinion, I definitely would buy a house, a car, invest some, and put the rest in the bank account as a back up. Playing in the NFL, you never know when you might get injured and that injury can cause you to retire earlier than expected.

Pittsburgh Stelers Lawrence Timmons explains what he brought with his first paycheck and what he did with the rest of the money that he had left over.

What would you do with your 1st paycheck from the NFL?

I wouldn't. I'd invest the signing bonus, an live off the other paychecks.

Im all for being smart with money, I invest what I can, live within my means, and try and stay away from large un-needed purchases (besides an occasional ridiculous tv).

But you have to live life to the fullest, buy something fun, enjoy the first paycheck. Then, after that, you can invest the rest. You cant take your money with you when you die (and the govt will take a cut of it when you do die), so why not enjoy while you are on this earth. It is much shorter than anyone wants it to be.

Pay any debts I may have accumulated, make sure my parents and siblings aren't in "need". Buy a comfortable, luxury vehicle and save the rest.

Get to work to make sure I really strike it rich by being the best player at my position in 4 years.

I'd buy a round of drinks in Milledgeville, GA and yell "Where my bitches at?" and blame it on Todd Haley's Rosetta Stone lectures.

I'd buy that Corvette, then buy a huge plot of land in the country surrounded by trees, so that you will need a chopper to find my house. Only thing you will see is a mailbox at the end of a dirt road. I'd make sure I'm 100% debt-free and would invest most of the rest. I'm not a person who likes the "rich" lifestyle...other than the car, of course.

My first thought was pay off student loans but lets face it if I'm making it big in the NFL I wouldn't have student loans :chuckle:

I would definitely do something nice for myself and also my family and then invest/save the rest.

In my 20s I would've been having a good time. Now, I'd just pay off debts and probably buy a nice car. Nothing too flashy, but definitely luxury.

Its got to be the ZR1, not just any corvette. I saw one in person last year (2011 model), the picture doesnt do it justice...and the sound of it is ridiculous

O I know, love the sound of the supercharger whining up on the LS9. Throw a Corsa or Borla exhaust system (3" Inch Borla Open Plate catback :lust:) on it with some upgrades to the suspension, possibly even better brakes (if you can get any better than whats already on it), and possibly better tires. By the way, did you get to see the rear tires on those, there huge! I'd take one in Cyber Gray Metallic.

I'd build a log cabin in the middle of nowhere, pay my debts, and kick ass in the NFL for 14 years.

I would buy a meal like this

And then I'd buy this

And then I'd invest/save/pay off any debt

The first thing I would do is pay off my debts. Make sure to get free & clear of all of that.

Second thing I would do is buy land, and build a nice house surrounded by a large black gate that's got sharp, pointed ends on both sides to discourage anyone from trying to go over it. And since this fence would be sitting atop a few feet of concrete, digging underneath it would be impossible. I would have an Olympic sized indoor swimming pool, an indoor basketball court, and a fully equipped weight room.

And then I would buy two vehicles.

The first one would be this exact color scheme of the 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302

The second would be a Lincoln, either and MKZ or MKS. Fully loaded (stereo, nav, leather, sunroof, etc.). Yes, as you can see, I am a Ford guy by my choice of vehicles.

Third, I would make sure my parents are taken care of. I'd probably pay off their homes for them and give them some money to put into savings. I would also buy them brand new vehicles. They are GM folks. My mom would get a fully loaded Buick Regal (she wants something kind of sporty but luxury). My dad would get a fully loaded GMC Sierra.

The rest would be saved or invested.
