The Ravens held a backup quarterback derby on Thursday and the winner was Curtis Painter.

Painter, Kyle Boller and Dennis Dixon all worked out for the team and the Ravens announced Thursday afternoon that they have signed Painter to a one-year deal. When it was announced Boller would be working out for the team that made him a 2003 first round pick, many wondered if history would (should?) stop him from getting the job. As it turns out, they were looking at the wrong history.

Dennis Dixon is not as good as Painter? And he wants to be a starter!

I'd rather have Boller back than sign Painter or Dixon. They already have a youngster in Taylor, not to mention that Flacco and Boller are ironically almost the same guy.

Someone to make Joe Flacco look like an elite QB

If Flacco gets injured they go from mediocrity at QB to downright horrible.

They are assuring themselves that Flaccid is the best QB on the team by doing this. Because I seriously doubt that Boller and Dixon are both worse than the quarterback that helped lead the Colts to the first overall pick of the draft.
