All the Steelers tendered free agents have signed now except for Mike Wallace.

Very good. We are getting into shape for the draft. Don't know if I would put too much effort into Wallace at this point. See what is available in 3-5 rounds. If there is a speedy WR with more than 1 trick, we should draft him.

Lewis could be starting opposite Ike this season, glad he's back.

I'm glad he's back too. but I expect Cortez Allen to be the starting corner opposite Ike. I think Keenan will be splitting nickel and dime duties with Curtis Brown.

why's that

I don't have anything I can link, but I've seen some strong hints in that direction from the coaching staff as relayed by several Steeler beat writers. I know the Steelers are very high on both their second year corners. Also by the tender they gave Lewis and the resulting lack of interest around the league, I'd say it's fairly evident that Lewis is seen as a somewhat marginal player. A solid nickel or dime back, but not starter material. In fact I'll go so far to say that the Steelers would have made a concerted effort to resign William Gay if they weren't sure in Allen and Brown.

Hey I've been wrong a thousand times before, and maybe I am on this one too? But it's my opinion that when the Steelers open the season next fall against the Broncos, both Cortez Allen and Curtis Brown will be ahead of Lewis on the depth chart.
