I could see this going to a seven game series. This is the match up that worries me the most however in that they will be our toughest opponents. Let's go Pens!

Pens in 5. Flyers are not thinking hockey right now. Distracted by frivolous assertions.

Four broken bones - 7 boarding penalties - 27 fights - 9 major penalties -11 double minors and 5 game misconducts.

Oh, and the Pens win the series in triple overtime of the 7th game on a Crosby goal.

Won't be any fights. Amazingly the NHL decides to ban fighting in the playoffs.

The league doesn't ban it, the coaches do, because they don't want to shift momentum for even a minute. I miss the old days when there was quite a bit of fighting in the playoffs.

Pens in 6, clinching in Philly in front of the orange-shirted prison inmates.

NHL does not ban fighting, but they do ramp up the penalties for aggressors and instigators. In effect, fighting becomes non-existent in the playoffs.

And here I was thinking you'd predict the Flyers in 3. :wink02:

Well, you were wrong :wink02:

I am still concerned about their defensive play, but ultimately I think a healthy - and motivated, in light of the past week's drama - Pens' squad will be too much for the Flyers to handle.

i grew up in Flyers country so the faster the series gets over the better. Take advantage of their slow defensemen and no letting the foot off the gas.

I'm going with the Pens in 6

I'll say Pens in 7.

And while I'm at it, I'll go AHL too. I'll say the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pens in 5 over the arch-rival Hershey Bears. (the first round of the AHL playoffs is now a best-of-5 series).

Not a hockey fan, but now's a good a time as ever to start watching and learning the game I guess. I'll go with the pens in 5 based on the game two or three days ago.

Whos excited for Wednesday! Playoffs begin round 1 Consol Energy whiteout it's going to be insane. Ugh I hate being in college and working, I have no time to see the game on the big screen or even at home ugh I literally have to miss games 1-3 for sure and maybe 4 ugh! I call Pens in 7 though, this will be our toughest series IMO.

I truly think this will be the Pens largest test of the playoffs. If they can get through the first round I think they have the legit edge over everyone else to win the Cup, It all starts tomorrow ladies and gentlemen. GO PENS!

It all comes down to how tightly the games are officiated. If they call things close, the advantage goes to the Penguins. The Pens power play and penalty kill is better than than the Flyers'. If they let things go a bit, the Pens wil still prevail, but it will be tougher. Tight rein by refs: Pens in 5. Refs let them go crazy: Pens in 7.

Too late to predict the Flyers in 4?

Would be nice to see the Pens come back, but I think this team is already defeated. I was really hoping they could pull it together.

Not sure if I'll watch any more hockey for this year. The Kings could grab my attention if they knock out the Canucks.

I don't watch hockey but I am curious what happened. The Penguins had a very good year and then got the best player in the nhl back and now are getting their asses kicked?

I guess I would liken it to the Steelers doing great without Ben and then being no better when he comes back.

What gives?

My guess is the chemistry that was built has been destroyed.
