Demetrius Bell is currently at the Steelers facility.

Bell, a 27 year old veteran who has spent his entire career with the Bills, is a quality left tackle. It’s surprising he has yet to sign on anywhere. And even more surprising that the Bufallo Bills haven’t locked him up.

The former seventh round draft pick has been the starting left tackle for the Bills since 2009.

Interesting. Bell is underrated but I doubt we sign him.

Bell is a 28-year-old starting-caliber left tackle who’s been plagued by injuries.

plagued by injuries? Should fit right in....

I wonder what he's worth?

I would have to guess he is worth more than we are willing to pay. If it weren't for him being so prone to injuries I think he'd have a nice deal by now.

Eagles also bringing him in for a visit. Would probably rather go there and have a good shot to be the starting LT with Peters out.

I'd rather see the Steelers draft a tackle then sign a free agent.

If the team wanted to bring him in as starter at left tackle it would be a good move, money pending. Keeping Gilbert at RT and moving Colon to a guard spot would make the line a strength as opposed to a weakness. Draft a guard or live with Foster/Legursky at the other spot.

Last time, we took the Bills' center and he was barely serviceable.

They owe us one for Urbik.

This possibly might have happened, but with Peters going down in Philly I'm guessing he'll end up there.

Who might this be? The last time they brought a player from the Bills was J. Scott when Kugler came in.

I thought Justin Hartwig was from the Bills for some reason, probably because he actually played for two other insignificant teams (Titans, Panthers) before he got a ring with the Steelers. My mistake.

Eagles interested in Max Starks: http://pittsburghfootballreport.com/2012/03/30/eagles-interested-in-max-starks-4/

That's interesting. Starks might be more affordable. Considering Peters is the unquestioned starter bringing Starks in might make more sense than the younger player in Bell.

I doubt Starks will be able to play until a month or so into the season. If that. Remember he blew out his knee against the Broncos.

Starks is a back up at best now. All I can think of is Marvel Smith.

Eagles also interested in Marcus Mcneil from the Chargers. Maybe we have a better shot at Bell than we 1st thought: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d827ff609/article/report-eagles-to-visit-with-freeagent-tackle-bell?module=HP11_headline_stack

With Starks coming off an ACL tear and McNeil suffering multiple injuries last year, Bell is probably the eagles' safest bet

I would love to get a healthy McNeil though

Just heard on the radio he signed with the Eagles for 5 years.

With no salary cap room, it is a complete waste of time to bring in any player from another team. The team probably is or should be focusing on getting their own players back.

Count Steeler

So does that mean Starks is coming back?

HollywoodSteel

Wasn't Starks working for vet minimum last year? If he's willing to take the same deal, by all means, bring him back. If he has to start the year on PUP, then that's okay. The way our players go down, he'll probably end up salvaging the season for us. Remember last year before we resigned him?

People keep talking about drafting a LT, but I'm curious, in what round? Who do you think will be available that you're willing to trust with Ben's blind side? Or do you guys mean a project type guy for depth that maybe we'll get lucky with somewhere down the road?
