Why doesn't the national media get off our backs. We aren't rebuilding, so STFU.

Ike says Troy has become a lot more vocal the last couple years? I haven't seen that, but I don't play with him every week either. :noidea:

The Steelers have been a playoff contender for most years since the early 1990's. They were a power in the 1970's...they weren't as consistent in the 1980's but did make the playoffs four times and played for the AFC Championship once in that decade...and from the 1990's on the Steelers have had 14 playoff appearances with four AFC Championships, played in 9 AFC Championship Games, winning two of four Super Bowl appearances, and 11 AFC Central/North titles.

The Steelers don't rebuild, they reload. They are consistently playoff contenders and while they will miss the playoffs every now and then, they are normally right back there the next season.

As long as we have Ben and a good defense, I'll expect us to be right in the mix. This coming year might be a little tough, but we ought to at least make the playoffs.

I'll bank on the fact that usually (recently at least) when we're "supposed" to have a down year, we do well. That's my plan and I'm sticking to it. :chuckle:

Are we really expecting to see significant drop off at any position besides maybe ILB?

...and that is before the draft.

In today's NFL, I think a team has to be devoid of talent on both sides of the ball to truly be rebuilding. The Colts are currently rebuilding. Why? Well, they had Manning and an offense that could carry a very average defense. Now, they have no offense, so they need help on both sides of the ball....in a bunch of spots.

If a team is .500 or better, I just do not see how you can consider them as rebuilding unless they gut the team heading into the offseason.

We did not. We have a few holes to fill to be back in the thick of it.

Will we have a new OG, ILB and BT? Replace those three spots with guys who can play and we will be just fine.

We are reloading, the Browns have been rebuilding for decades.

Oh, what it would be, to be a fly on the wall in that locker room.

We lost one starter, I'd have to say we are reloading.

The Steelers don't have rebuilding seasons, we have off-seasons.

we're always too old and we're done and we are going to be rebuilding. For a team that always gets picked for 3rd place in the AFC North each offseason, we do ok for ourselves it seems.

Old.
Slow.
Done.
Playoffs.
