Ravens Have Urgency To Extend Joe Flacco, Ray Rice

Ravens Owner Steve Bisciotti feels an urgency to re-sign quarterback Joe Flacco and running back Ray Rice to long-term contracts.


It’s not because they won’t be in Ravens uniforms next year, because they assuredly will. It’s because he wants more room to play in free agency.

“The quicker we sign them, the quicker we free up salary cap space,” Owner Steve Bisciotti said Monday at the owners meetings. “So there’s an urgency there.”

Those two are going to tie up more salary cap space than he thinks. Not to mention, who are they looking at signing in FA at this point that's going to cost pig bucks?

I want the Ravens to sign Bert to a new contract to be honest. That effectively shuts their Super Bowl Window for the next couple years. Last year was THEIR time to win with that group of players, and they didn't. They're not getting it better than that, not for a while.

They need to sign Ray Rice because when he is not a part of the offense, they aren't even good enough to beat the Jaguars or Seawhiners. Flacco on the other hand, no way
