The Bears’ Wednesday signing of running back Michael Bush was at first perceived as a sort of insurance policy for unsigned franchise player Matt Forte. Bush could be Forte’s backup, giving Chicago a starting-capable runner in the event of another Forte injury, and also provide the Bears with some negotiating leverage in long-term contract talks with Forte.

There's only so many times a man that has done everything he's been asked to do can be disrespected! Guess the GOOD GUYS do finish last....

He shouldnt even bother coming back, dont sign the tender. The guy is the offensive machine and they throw him around like a rag doll.

He's the majority of their offense. But they treat him like a third string back that's always inactive.

We aren't gonna have Mendy this fall and we're probably not gonna have MeMo.
Forte would look great in black and gold...

On this, I completely agree.

Fine, be unhappy, Matt. That's a real team attitude there. Bottom line is, several key people - including you - got injured last year, and they suffered for it. God forbid they should try to bring in competent players to make the team better.
The real losers in this are the Raiders. Once McFadden gets his annual nagging injury and is out or ineffective for half the season, they will have SHIT for a running game.

I don't see the problem. They are looking for a back-up, and a guy to take a away a few carries and extend Forte's career. This also is a business move, and it shores up their position if Matt decides HE wants a ridiculous contract that doesn't make sense for anyone but him and his agent.

Yea, I wasn't real happy about the news. I guess we'll see what Taiwan Jones has to offer...lol.
This season is about cleaning up the mess that Al left. Realistically, I don't see the Raiders winning more than 8 games, if that, this year. McKenzie is doing what needs done now to ensure a better future. I have no problem with it.

Yeah, they've definitely been going through a much-needed house cleaning, but they ought to be better off for it in the long run. Especially once they have draft picks again.
However, out of all the guys I thought it would've made sense to keep, Bush would have been right at the top of the list. Just an all-around good running back and probably a star if he wasn't stuck behind McFadden. And cheap, too, as RBs go. Leaves me scratching my head, unless maybe the issue was just that he didn't want to be in Oakland anymore instead of the other way around.

Matt Forte needs to find another team. It's clear he and the Bears aren't on the same page.

He was holding out on signing his tender, from what I understand. He thinks he's a #1 RB. He isn't. He's a decent RB, but he isn't really all that great. The talk has been that he would go where he got paid the most. He gave us 100% when he was on the field. He wasn't a [problem in the lockerroom or off the field. That's all you can ask. I wish him the best of luck with the rest of his career.

Hmm. Well, I'll tell you one thing - if I thought I was a #1 RB, I sure wouldn't sign with a team that already had a Pro Bowl RB who was younger than me, plus a second-string RB like Barber who I'd legitimately have to battle it out with for playing time. I'd be looking at teams down in the bottom half of the league in rushing - maybe Green Bay or NE if I was lucky, somewhere like Tampa or Indy if I wasn't. One of those teams has close to the same amount that they'd be glad to spend on a RB of his level. Just kind of a weird move on his part if you ask me.
