Jeremy Green, an ESPN analyst since 2005, and the son of former Vikings coach Dennis Green, has been arrested on child porn charges in Connecticut.

BRISTOL — The ESPN football analyst charged with possessing child pornography admitted to police he was a cocaine user, a prosecutor said Friday.

Jeremy Green, 38, a former football scout and analyst who responds to fan questions on ESPN.com, was taken into custody at the Holiday Inn Express in Southington where he was staying about 5 p.m. Thursday.

“He is no longer employed here,” said ESPN spokesman Mike Soltys Friday. Green had been working at the company as an online contributor in the past few weeks, Soltys confirmed.

Green was charged by warrant with first-degree possession of child pornography, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia by Bristol police and held on $750,000 bond payable in cash only until his appearance in court Friday.

Jeremy Green a cocaine user who had child porn, prosecutor says possessed more than 50 images or depictions of child pornography and admitted that he is a cocaine user, according to police and prosecutors.

If the child porn charge sticks the man will never make another dime from anything to do with football. His career is kaput.

He will be making no more then minimum wage if that happens. These charges though will likely keep him from making a heavy penny.

I enjoyed his contributions to ESPN as well. I find myself wishing that it turns out to be some sort of mistake and at least the kiddie porn part turns out to be unfounded.

But of course I know that wont happen and he is what he is, which is one sick son of a bitch.

Poor Dennis Green and his wife. As a parent I don't know if a worse thing could happen to your child, death included.

im sure many folks locked up would gladly trade a pack of smokes for a nudie pic of a 16-17 year old to jerk off too.

its still called child porn, just like consentual sex with a minor is still considered statutory rape.

Update :

Former ESPN writer Jeremy Green arrested on child porn charges last week entered not guilty pleas during a court appearance Tuesday according to the Hartford Courant.

The judge then ordered a medical watch for Jeremy Green, who was arrested July 8 at a motel in Bristol.

He was charged with first-degree possession of child pornography, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. Green's remains in custody with bail set at $750,000.

Green's public defender, Claud Chong, said his client's bond is "outrageous" for a non-violent crime. He said he will attempt to get a bail reduction.
"There's nothing special about this particular defendant that would warrant such a high bond," Chong said.

If bond is $750K, don't you only have to post at 10% of it?

So he can't come up with $75K? Sounds like Daddy threw son out the window with the bathwater. A family will stand behind you no matter what in almost all cases, unless it involves Child Porn. Pretty much, that makes everyone turn on you.

Update :

Jeremy Green, who used to work for ESPN, entered a guilty plea to possession of child pornography.

Under the plea agreement, Green is expected to be sentenced to 20 years in prison, suspended after five, followed by 10 years of probation.

Green, who used the screen name 'jjack0721' to share sexually explicit pictures and a video fo a toddler with an undercover cop... who he thought was just another scumbag. He told the detective that 'he couldn't wait for her to bring her three children to Connecticut.'

What did he do? I can't get to the article.

Child porn is ambiguous at best. Anyone under 18 is considered a child. So if you have a pic of a 17 year old that is 1 month from 18 birthday, is that still a pedophile? Hell, some 16 year olds nowadays look like 20 somethings.

IMO, pics of girls under the age of 16 is pedophile territory. 16 and 17 is pathetic, but not pedophile. Whenever I hear the term "child porn", I think of pics of children under age of 8 or so, THAT is sickening.

We recently interviewed a fellow who, at the last minute, disclosed the fact that he was arrested for having child porn on his computer. I don't know what the ages of the children were, but he is absolutely screwed in terms of being an employee of a company. His best bet is to remain an independent contractor.

The way I see it, there is absolutely NO EXCUSE for having anything like that on your computer and if you do, you're a plain idiot in addition to whatever mental disorder you may have.

I'll tell you this though, if you ever wanted to screw someone over bad, just put porn pics of children on their computer and make an anonymous phone call to the police. There is no defense for it.

Wow, after reading a little more about Jeremy's surfing habits, I don't know why they don't just give him a length of rope, a chair, a good overhead beam, and 15 minutes of privacy to do the right thing.

I do too, but it's a pretty good guess the family's disowned him, the fact that he's using a public defender tells you that.
