now that we have released Hines, Kemo and Smith, does anyone know our current cap situation. Before the restructuring of contracts began, I thought we were around 25 mil over the cap. To my knowledge, it seemed like we shed close to that in restructures and releasing these three players should save an additional 6 plus mil. We should be under the cap by now with some more cuts to come. Im pretty impressed with the job so far.

After the restructures and before the releases, the Steelers were about $640,000 under. Even with the recent releases and more to come, there is a lot of work to be done before signing Wallace. A lot...

We are not signing Wallace. His cap number will be around 2.5 mil with the restricted free agent tag. If another team chooses to try to snag him, we may lose him. It's a risk we have to take. There are some pretty solid WRs in free agency right now, so if we lose Wallace, we also shed that 2.5 off our cap number which could put us in position to sign a decent wr. Not ideal, so hopefully no team will try to grab him.
