I just read this article (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d82715db8/article/steelers-qb-roethlisberger-still-waiting-on-haleys-call?module=HP11_headline_stack) on nfl.com. With Haley knowing coming in that Arians leaving caused a problem with Ben, why wouldn't he have reached out to Ben and at least called him to try to smooth things over? I don't like the direction this is heading.

I think it's kind of odd that the two haven't spoken. Bug that's just my opinion. Who knows what each one is up to...

Perhaps he is just not an ass kisser...or petty...or into placating self absorbed drama queens. :noidea:

I can just hear Ben now following his wife around the house still bitching about this as she rolls her eyes and goes "la la la la la" to herself.

My guess is that Haley is busy dissecting game film from every play from every game over the past several seasons to figure out exactly what's what with Ben and the offense. I don't think he wants to meet Ben formally until he's clear in his own mind what needs to be done, and how to go about getting it done. In other words he doesn't have any exact answers for Ben yet, so there's no real need to meet him yet. When he finally gets around to meeting Ben I think he'll blow him away with his vision for the offense, and Ben's role in it. The best sales pitch usually comes from the most informed salesman, not only on his product (his offense) but also on the client he's pitching to. (as in Ben) Haley is currently taking a crash course in Ben 101. Therein lies your delay.

This much I do know. Haley hit it out of the park in his interview with Tomlin. (Wexall was on that a week before the hiring) I'm confident he'll do the same once he finally gets around to meeting with Ben.

Ohh the drama :drama: It would be nice to wait and see how their relationship will be imho.

In the meantime ... :pop2:

I don't see this as a big deal.

Haley doesn't seem like an ass kisser or like he's the golf buddy of one of his players. When he knows exactly what direction he wants to take with the Steelers offense after studying the past four or so seasons of Steelers football (and likely the Super Bowl XL season too), he will know what he wants to do and then he will compile a playbook and meet with not just Ben but all the offensive players.

Is this high school? Draft is coming up. Coach Haley is going to get in touch w/Ben soon. I guess the press is trying to get Ben's cell phone records.

Is Ben still working out in Pittsburgh? They should have spoken by now, but the real conversations start when Haley is reading to install his offense for the coming season.

Who cares. If Ben wants to speak with Haley, then he can go speak with Haley. The coach has more pressing things to take care of.

I am sick of the great Steel City Pissing contest of 2012!

They should be figuring out how they are going to give OC's nightmares. Not having a staring contest!

Haley not permitted to have "mandatory" meeting with Ben until Apr.16, per CBA. The 2 can have informal talks any time they want.

Really? You are just hired as the new OC of the 6 time world champion Pittsburgh Steelers and you don't even have the courtesy of calling your 2 time superbowl winning, 100 million dollar quarterback that is the key to your own success to just say "hello, I know you have have some anxiety about this but it's going to work out great, I'm excited to be here and we'll talk more as soon as the rules permit. See ya, bye".

This is just common courtesy.... if Brady, Peyton or Drew Brees was our QB he would be crucified by the media . But it's just Ben....so he's being a drama queen and so it's all Ben's fault.

Haley was introduced as the offensive coordinator Feb. 9 and spoke highly of Roethlisberger.

General manager Kevin Colbert said during a number of interviews last week that Haley has been busy in meetings and with the transition to a new city over the past two weeks.

While Haley is permitted interaction with players during the offseason, under the new collective bargaining agreement, Haley can't request a meeting with any of them, including Roethlisberger.

Teams with returning head coaches can start their nine-week offseason workout sessions no earlier than April 16. But there's no language in the CBA that states there can't be any direct contact between coaches and players before April 16 as long as it isn't mandatory.

Backup quarterback Charlie Batch told WBGG-AM (970) over the weekend that he chatted with Haley last week, and receiver Antonio Brown posted a picture on Twitter of he and Haley in the Steelers' locker room.

Maybe it's just a matter of Ben taking the initiative? I like Ben, but I think maybe he's being a little too needy here, wanting special treatment. Apparently it wasn't too much effort for Batch, and Brown to reach out and say hello, no reason Ben can't do the same thing.

How long does a quick, courtesy phone call take?
Didn't Tomlin have an informal dinner with Ben shortly after he was hired?

It's called professionalism.

This. The Steeler reporters are bored. Ben's probably worried about whether his golf clubs are shiny enough and if he's done the honey do list. Haley's working on the draft and breaking down tape. Tomlin's preparing for the last season of House.

Need more details like When, Where and Why. These news outlets report incomplete information. Need a thorough transcript of the meeting. Not satisfied until I hear more details.

In other news, Tim Tebow is Christian. Bert Flaccid has large eyebrows. Tom Brady is gay. Tony Romosimpson is still 2-158 in December/January.

I wonder if he brought Ben flowers. Hopefully there's enough mutual respect for one another that they can work together once they're done sniffing each others ass and playing crapper finger.

Now what are they going to report on? They only met for 5 minutes? They only spoke for 15 minutes? Well what does that mean, there must be a growing tiff.

Hey yoyos, go watch some college football footage and build up the players that the Bengals and Browns should draft and leave the spotlight off the ones the Steelers are going to go for.
