The third one to do so. Per PFT.
A source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that cornerback Ike Taylor, who signed a four-year deal with the Steelers before the 2011 season, has converted the maximum amount of his $5.75 million base salary for 2012 into a signing bonus. Since the minimum base salary for a player with Taylor’s experience is $825,00, the team was able to give him $4.925 million now.

So add 1.66 to his cap number the rest of his contract, three years.

After getting torched by the Broncos in the 2011 wild-card round, Taylor should be thrilled he didn’t see his $5.75 million base salary converted into a one-way ticket out of town.
Never mind the fact that he played like an All-Pro most of the rest of the year. Spare the stupid editorializing, douchebag. :coffee:
I HATE Florio.

Ike didn't have Clark back there in the secondary with him against Denver. He had a great season, and I applaud his efforts on the field, and to lessen the cap issues.

I have always said it and I will not ever change..."I Like Ike!!!"
One bad game even in the playoffs does not dim what Ike has given us Steeler fans!!! I for one am proud that he is still a Steeler and doing things to help us maintain our Steeler ways!!!

I'm starting to think Ryan Clark was an under appreciated part of the defense this year. Yeah, Taylor had a bad game, but he was missing his safety.

This^... Without Clark the defense is not the same..

It was great for Ike to do this but it is in his best interests. He doesn't lose any money and gets a nice lump sum right away.
