No, he too was a big supporter of Arians and did not like how the situation was handled. Omar saw that it was only a matter of time until he too "retired". He is leaving to start a new empire in St Louis and will avenge the wrongdoing for Arians in what can only be termed as .............The Wrath of Khan!!

Of course, I have not heard Rob Lowe tweet this so its merely what Arians told LaCanfora. ;)

Also its ONLY a rumor as of now. While it would be a promotion for him...I think he's happy here.

Not a rumor. The interview is happening. He's been rumored for the longest time to be the hand picked GM for Cowher if Bill ever returns to coaching...

While it would suck to lose him as he is the best capologist in all of sports, the man deserves a chance to be a GM. I'd be happy for him if he took the job.

It could be the beginning of something greater for him, or the beginning of the end of his career as he knows it. It's "hard" to rebuild a team, the success rate is not very high. Many have fallen into that trap before.

Selfishly, I hope he stays.

Realistically, like X-T says, he deserves a shot if that is what he wants.

An interview does not automatically mean a job offer...

Take your time and make the best decision for yourself Omar. Steelers fans would miss you if you do leave. You are a tremendous asset to this organization.

Everyone is looking for their general managers to be smart, money-wheeling guys. Finances are so important today and teams are starting to realize that.

I really hope he doesn't go anywhere, because it would be a lose-lose for both him and the organization. Even if you're a salary cap wizard and a great lead negotiator, being on a team like the Steelers really amplifies your strengths, and going to a team like the Rams undermines them, unless you're also a top-10 scout and talent evaluator on your own - and as far as I know, that animal hasn't been built yet. Look at what happened to Carmen Policy, Dwight Clark and John McVay after they left the 49ers. And look what happened to the team after they left, for that matter.

Let's hope that Khan realizes he's 20 years younger than Colbert, is on track to get one of the Rings of Power in the Steelers organization sooner rather than later, and stay there comfortably for a long time. There's really nothing bad about his situation. Or at least I hope that's what he thinks. -10 points to both sides if he leaves.
