Butch
02-05-2012, 06:32 PM
Should have caught that one.

Probably would have but the defender had his shoulder. If that was holding a play earlier that was pass interference.

ALLD
02-05-2012, 06:32 PM
If they are going to call a marginal holding call, they need to call the PI too. Does the NFL have a policy to keep the Pats alive before the Giants run away with it?

I'm reading all your catty little FU comments to my husband, who is enjoying them thoroughly. As am I. Thumbs up to you all! Remember when SBs were considered to be generally boring games? I thought those final 57 seconds would never end!

If you are talkin' about tommy boy...you could do much much better.

LOL I still remember how quickly they (the media) deemed them that when the Steelers were still in the running to win a 3rd superbowl in the same century even if we did fall short late in the season.

Remember all the BS we heard after we won SB XLIII? How we "only" beat one "decent" 12-4 team in the playoffs that year, and "coasted" to wins over an 8-8 team in the divisional round and a 9-7 NFC team in the SB all because the Mighty Metrosexual was on IR that season? At least we BEAT the 9-7 team in the SB...

Let's look at the 2011 Patriots*.

Houston was down to a third string rookie quarterback and lost its best defensive player for the season. We had our top two running backs and starting center on the trainer's table instead of on the field. The Colts, who have made the Pats* their beyotch for several years, were a MASH unit. And they only got to the Super Bowl because Lois Einhorn shanked a chip shot.

Fun trivia question: How many teams with winning records did the Patriots* beat in the regular season?

Well, I just hope this serves as some motivation for Ben to have a good season, get back to the show and win it. Especially now since he's pretty much going to be an afterthought when it comes to elite QBs.

This...minus #5...I actually dont have a problem with him anymore. And I was kinda glad he got 1 catch in his one (and possibly only) SB appearance.

Bradshaw never lost a superbowl, Montana never lost a superbowl, Aikman never lost a superbowl. Brady has lost two, and unlike the names mentioned earlier had to cheat to win his superbowls. Gaydy and Bellicheat's success has been officially tainted and they are the biggest frauds ever perpetrated in sports history.

Not really, he is still an a-hole, and did not earn his spot in the Superbowl

No, Ben has had the more consistent career overall, he has won more games and has better statistics. Other than this year and the 07 postseason Eli has had a rather inconsistent career

Not really. Manning has more yards passing. More TD's. Not really seeing where Eli is very inconsistent. He's actually been very consistent. I don't think anyone can dismiss Eli that quickly.

Perfect ending to the season, first the thugbirds and their phony murderer lose in the AFC championship game in the most horrible way possible, then the Pats lose a second super bowl against the same team, same QB and same manner as the first, officially tarnishing their legacy

He's thrown more interceptions and had a season where he threw 20+. Just last season there were Giants fans who wanted to run him out of town with all of the drive and game-killing INTs he threw. So no, he really hasn't been very consistent...but then again, neither has Ben.

Hopefully, this puts Rivers in his rightful place. No better than 3rd. Manning and Ben can fight it out over the next few years. Would love to see a Giants Steelers SB next year.

He's thrown 20 more TD's than Ben as well and actually had two seasons at 20+ INT. He's thrown the ball 600 times more than Ben as well. Eli's been very consistent with his yards, very consistent with his TD's. Ben has been up and down with his TD's.

It wasn't too long ago that people wanted Ben out of town...lol. That has nothing to do with it. The Giants fans wanted Coughlin and Fewell fired this season...a few weeks ago. That has nothing to do with anything.

My point is that he's been more consistent than not and can't be dismissed as quickly as some people would like.

Well, with 600 more attempts, I'm pretty sure Ben would have better numbers than Eli, but whatever. I'm not dismissing Eli - you can't dismiss a guy with 2 Super Bowl MVPs under his belt. Like I said earlier, I hope this serves as motivation for Ben to get back into the elite QB category...that is of course if he's given the opportunity with the new OC coming in.

He was owned by Peyton's little brother again. That wouldn't have happened to Montana or Bradshaw.

No, they got better as the games got bigger later and later on in their careers. Tom has gotten smaller and smaller every single Big Game he's been in. Total Choker now.
