The Pro Bowl is coming under increased scrutiny amid fan boos at last week's game in Honolulu...

Now that is what the fans want! At least this fan. If the game is going to be that much of a farce, then can it.

It's weird because that's how he wants the players to play during the season, but not for probowl? How many injuries was there in Hawaii this year? I think zero.. so isn't that Roger's ultimate goal? Zero injuries? Sorry Rog, you can't have FOOTBALL without injuries.

They could improve the game if they offered a 50k bonus to the charity of choice for defensive MVP, and best offensive lineman.

Just make it so that the losing team has one player selected at random who's forced to play for the Raiders or Redskins for the league minimum the next year. THAT would get some people motivated.

It won't make the game itself any more intense, but I like the NHL's pick-up game idea. Of course, you would have to pick the teams early in the week. Still, it would be a change.
Maybe they could bring old retired coaches back to pick and lead the teams? You Know ... Madden could pick ...... Aaron Rodgers.:D How about Bud Grant? He would institute a single wing offense. That would be interesting.

There's a lot more to worry about than canning the Pro Bowl. Seriously, if you don't like it don't watch it, don't read about it, don't pay to go to it. I think all the fans/players/coaches/everyone involved knows the game is what it is...a fun exhibition. Really...who cares if it's half assed? You don't like it, don't bother with it...

Well, if anyone should know half-assed it's Goodell.

Pay for the trip for the player and guest and play the game for charity. Also do some contests between the players a day or two before the game and televise it on Saturday before the game. The players would have a blast and it would be pretty entertaining!
Goodell turned it into the joke that a 100 point game becomes including Anthony Brown playing CB and covering Larry Fitzgerald, one of the best WRs in the last 10 years.
Hundreds of online IQ tests have confirmed that Goodell is a genius.

Well, apparently Goodell is not fine with it anymore. I agreed with him a long time ago.

I could care less on that decision. I'm not a ProBowl fan. I couldn't tell you the last time I watched a ProBowl game. To me it's a waste of time and talent. Player's want to achieve going there, and no one really cares about playing all out. Which is understandable, who want's to play and get hurt in a 'no care game'. All the player's that go can afford to go on their own, and not have to have their way paid. I think just have the vote for the best player, give them their money and leave it at that, then prepare for the SB. ProBowl waste of time.

you what it to matter , winner has super bowl . I know that its always played in a dome or in the south , but you tell the players you could have home game super bowl , they'd play a little harder .

Haven't watched one since the early '80s, personally. Don't care either way.
Hopefully he will shoot himself in the head since the Pats lost another SB.

I'm with you on that fansince'76, it's probably been that long for me also. Just a boring, mean-nothing game. All the player's have the money to go to Hawaii and take their family/friends anyway, no need to have the league pay for it. All it is is 'party time' for the players anyway.

Goofdell needs to start getting the Gary Bettman treatment from NFL fans.

Speaking of which, has Disney Channel II begun with the litany of excuses as to why the bestest team with the bestest coach and bestest QB ever lost? :coffee:

How about they make all the players put in $100K. Winners take the pot. They may have to play the game in Vegas, but so what. All the drunken gunshot-hooker stories would make for great entertainment.
