I usually don't do pieces so close together, but I really wanted to get an updated mock out there in early February. After the Super Bowl, the community tends to go a little nuts with character issues/hidden injuries/reevaluation. I really used my free time to delve into the class this past week; and have already changed my opinions on some prospects vastly. This is my favorite time of the process because it is the most pure: opinions based on how the player executes in-game.

Also, if I could make a plea to anyone who has some good links to any games/extended highlights they would like to share I'd greatly appreciate it. I wasn't able to record as many Saturdays as I have in seasons past this year and Youtube deletes a lot of the good stuff shortly after it gets posted...

1. Indianapolis Colts - Andrew Luck, Quarterback, Stanford

Well, that was easy. Jim Irsay has been flirting with this selection via Twitter since October. Barring a late change of heart, the Stanford Quarterback should be the selection here. Robert Griffin will make a late push to be the first overall pick at some point, but Luck should sustain his rank in the end.

2. St. Louis Rams - Morris Claiborne, Defensive Back, Louisiana State

Would the Rams be better off giving Sam Bradford some first round assistance on offense? Maybe. But I think Claiborne would have a major impact on the team's defensive performance. Coming off a season where Ron Bartell, Bradley Fletcher and Jerome Murphy all landed on injured reserve, having a league-ready defensive back like Claiborne could prove to be invaluable.

3. Minnesota Vikings - Riley Reiff, Offensive Line, Iowa

The Vikings tried to make Charlie Johnson their franchise left tackle after stealing him away from the Colts last off-season, but it isn't going to happen. Johnson can hold down the fort on the blind side, but he is more of a guard pretending to play tackle than anything else. Reiff would give the team a smart young player who could grow with Christian Ponder & Percy Harvin.

4. Cleveland Browns - Justin Blackmon, Wide Receiver, Oklahoma State

The Browns like what they see out of Greg Little on the practice field, but it didn't quite translate to in-game production until the latter portion of his rookie season. There are hardly whispers of Little being a Travis Wilson doppleganger, but I don't think he is a #1 option. Adding Blackmon to the mix would improve Colt McCoy's mediocre game and give Cleveland a respectable offensive threat.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - David DeCastro, Offensive Line, Stanford

Donald Penn and Jeremy Trueblood are good tackles. But the Buccaneer's offensive line struggled mightily last season. The interior could not hold up and foiled any plans Josh Freeman had of improving upon his 2010 campaign. Dave DeCastro would add strength up the middle.

6. Washington D.C. Redskins - Robert Griffin, Quarterback, Baylor

If the Redskins are able to snag Robert Griffin, the team's offense should take off. RGIII is the type of player that Mike Shanahan knows how to coach. He is perfect for that offense. His feet and polished deep ball could make throwing off the play action nearly unstoppable.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars - Michael Floyd, Wide Receiver, Notre Dame

The Jaguars are in serious need of help offensively. New Head Coach Mike Mularkey will have Maurice Jones-Drew pounding away with the running game, which should in turn help Blaine Gabbert. But Gabbert had a miserable rookie season. If there is any hope of turning his young career around the team needs to get him a legit weapon on the outside. Mercedes Lewis was Jacksonville's leading receiver last season with 460 yards.

8. Carolina Panthers - Matt Kalil, Offensive Line, Southern California

The Panthers desperately need help at all levels of their defense. But I don't think the team would pass up center Ryan Kalil's brother, who also happens to be a rock solid prospect at left tackle. Kalil could start at right tackle immediately, replacing the undrafted free agent Carolina had shoved into the position last year. Jordan Gross is still one of the best on the left side, but he is in his thirties now and the rookie could slide into that spot once Gross can no longer handle it.

9. Miami Dolphins - Ryan Tannehill, Quarterback, Texas A&M

Ryan Tannehill is one of the more perplexing athletes to come out in some time. Has a better arm than people give him credit for, is a smart guy and can run like other quarterbacks only wish they could. A guy who would probably still be a mid-round pick if he was entering the draft as a receiver, maybe the biggest knock on him is that he is so enigmatic. As a quarterback, it can be really hard to distinguish his strengths from his weaknesses. His physical gifts seem to be the best thing going for him, but at the same time he is a good character kid who by all accounts practices hard and is smart enough to pick up most offensive systems. His pocket presence scares me a little, I have seen it work both ways. Sometimes he senses pressure very well and other times he is completely oblivious. With Tannehill, you are taking a big risk. But the reward could be huge.

The Dolphins are a team I could see taking that risk. A team that has lacked a presence at quarterback for years, Joe Philbin and Mike Sherman have already expressed signs of interest in locking down the position. Sherman, who coached Tannehill in college, should give positive input about the player to the organization.

10. Buffalo Bills - Quinton Coples, Pass Rusher, North Carolina

The Buffalo Bills are changing defensive schemes... Again. And new Defensive Coordinator Dave Wannstedt should want to improve the team's edge rushers. With Kyle Williams and Marcel Dareus giving the team fantastic pass rush from the middle of the defensive line, Quinton Coples could be the answer the Bills are looking for at end.

11. Kansas City Chiefs - Johnathan Martin, Offensive Line, Stanford

The Chiefs have a good young roster. Unfortunately, a lot of those young players ended up on injured reserve last season. With many skill pieces already in place, Kansas City should begin building an offensive line to support whoever winds up under center next year.

12. Seattle Seahawks - Devon Still, Defensive Line, Penn State

Seattle somewhat surprisingly has few pressing needs. The Seahawks' roster is a solid one. A defensive line headlined by Brandon Mebane and Chris Clemons; adding a stud defensive tackle to the team would make their already potent front one of the best in football.

13. Arizona Cardinals - Mike Adams, Offensive Line, Ohio State

The Cardinals offensive line situation is dire. The front office just can't seem to get the position right. It seems everyone has given up on Levi Brown, and with good reason. He has played poorly on both the left and right sides of the line. Mike Adams is a mauler in the run game who has legitimate pass blocking skills. And at 6'8 he'd at least look good in a Cardinals uniform.

14. Dallas Cowboys - Melvin Ingram, Pass Rusher, South Carolina

Anthony Spencer has disappointed Jerry Jones. And Dallas needs more pass rushing results from opposite DeMarcus Ware. Jones, who has talked much about his line backers since the end of the season, should love Ingram. The Gamecock plays much shorter than his 6-2 frame indicates. And is capable of getting the kind of leverage you might associate with James Harrison's game. He really has the best of both worlds with his long athleticism and stout power.

15. Philadelphia Eagles - Zach Brown, Line Backer, North Carolina

The Eagles Line Backers sucked last year. Sucked. The staff made a major personnel gaffe by starting rookie Casey Matthews in the middle; just assuming he would be fine because his brother had such a positive impact in Green Bay the year prior. Hopefully the team can learn from its mistakes and start treating line backer as if it's a real position, something they haven't done in years. Otherwise they might have to go out and sign a few more free agents. Then again, that didn't work out so well for the rest of the roster last season.

16. New York Jets - Courtney Upshaw, Pass Rusher, Alabama

The Jets roster is a disaster. Rex Ryan may know how to coach defense, but he certainly hasn't helped Gang Green put a good squad together. The team is old and slow or young and inexperienced at nearly every position. The defensive line should improve this year, with Muhammed Wilkerson and Kendrick Ellis having a year under their belts, but the line backers look as poor as they did last year. And the pass rush is abysmal. Upshaw would give the team a good young prospect who could help rush the passer immediately. They need it.

17. Cincinnati Bengals - Dre Kirkpatrick, Defensive Back, Alabama

Character issues? What character issues? The Bengals are the NFL's version of the honey badger when it comes to character issues. They don't care. And Kirkpatrick would give the team a talented corner to play opposite Leon Hall. With the new rookie salaries, paying Kirkpatrick & Hall is more reasonable than keeping both Hall and Joseph would have been for Cincinnati a year ago.

18. San Diego Chargers - Cordy Glenn, Offensive Line, Georgia

The Chargers could use some help along the offensive line. And with Kris Dielman contemplating retirement after his struggles with concussions, Cordy Glenn would be a suitable replacement.

19. Chicago Bears - Kendall Wright, Wide Receiver, Baylor

I'm not sure if the Bears will go this route, they seem to hate selecting receivers early, but they should. Wright is explosive. He can press a defense deep and isn't afraid to go over the middle. A good all around prospect. It would also give Jay Cutler a real receiver other than Earl Bennett. The team has been playing Devin Hester at the position for the past few years. Maybe this would end that experiment.

20. Tennessee Titans - Luke Kuechly, Line Backer, Boston College

Barrett Ruud was signed last year to be the answer inside for the Titans, but he is injury prone and isn't getting any younger. With Akeem Ayers already in place, another young line backer seems to be exactly what Tennessee needs. Will Witherspoon is the teams other starting outside backer and he is 32 years old. Kuechly could play outside as well, making him a valuable depth player.

21. Cincinnati Bengals - Trent Richardson, Running Back, Alabama

While I'm not a supporter of ever selecting a running back in the first round, Trent Richardson would give the Bengals a plethora of offensive talent. Andy Dalton, Jermaine Gresham, A.J. Green and Richardson would give defenses headaches and help Cincinnati move closer to thwarting the defenses of Baltimore and Pittsburgh.

22. Cleveland Browns - Whitney Mercilus, Pass Rusher, Illinois

Jabaal Sheard played excellent football for the Browns last season. As did fellow rookie Phil Taylor. Adding another pass rusher to the mix could really make Cleveland's defensive front a special group. Mercilus could be that guy.

23. Detroit Lions - Peter Konz, Offensive Line, Wisconsin

The interior offensive line for the Detroit Lions is getting old. A team that already has the offensive skill players many teams wish for, getting stronger in the trenches would help Detroit take the next step in their future.

24. Pittsburgh Steelers - Dont'a Hightower, Line Backer, Alabama

James Farrior and Larry Foote are on their way out of Pittsburgh. If not this year, in the near future. Lawrence Timmons has become a strong player inside but the team will need another presence next to him if it wants to continue its run stopping dominance. Hightower seems like the kind of player the Steelers would target. He should be able to sit for a season or two before taking over - as is customary in Pittsburgh.

25. Denver Broncos - Jerel Worthy, Defensive Line, Michigan State

The Broncos defense made great strides of improvement last season under Coach John Fox. Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil paved the road to opposing quarterbacks; and Robert Ayers is finally showing some of the promise Denver expected to see when he was drafted in the first round out of Tennessee a few years back. Adding a prospect like Worthy to the mix could only be a good thing.

26. Houston Texans - Mohamed Sanu, Wide Receiver, Rutgers

The Texans need to address wide receiver. The team simply can't rely on Andre Johnson to be the only real pass catching threat anymore. With awesome depth at nearly every other offensive position I can't imagine the Texans coming out of the first round without addressing this need. Sanu has the potential to catch a ton of balls at the next level and would be a great compliment to Johnson.

27. New England Patriots - Dontari Poe, Defensive Line, Memphis

The Patriots have become masters of playing multiple fronts the past few season. 34, 43, 5 down, enigma... All have been added to Bill Belichick's repertoire. Poe would give New England a huge and talented player who could play on most defensive downs.

28. Green Bay Packers - Nick Perry, Pass Rusher, Southern California

Green Bay had an awful defense last year. And what little defense they did play showed even less ability to rush the passer. Teams shut down Clay Matthews; then and had nothing to worry about from the other side of the field as the Packers were starting players with names like Walden, Jones and Zombo. With A.J. Hawk being the liability he is, and an unimpressive slew of pass rushers aside from Matthews, the Packers need to address their second line of defense badly. Nick Perry out of USC looks like a great fit in the team's 34 front.

29. Baltimore Ravens - Vontaze Burfict, Line Backer, Arizona State

Ray Lewis isn't going to last forever. He should have been seeing limited action the last two or three years to be honest, even though saying so is the equivalent of football blasphemy. Burfict, a loud mouthed, intimidating, reckless inside line backer out of Arizona State is the typical Raven. He could learn from Lewis and replace him on passing downs.

30. San Francisco 49ers - Janoris Jenkins, Defensive Back, North Alabama

San Francisco's defensive backfield played great football this past season. Carlos Rogers looked like a shutdown corner and Terrell Brown really came on. But neither of those players are young and Jenkins is a great athlete. Adding him to the 9ers roster would really strengthen the team on the back end.

31. New York Giants - Michael Brockers, Defensive Line, Louisiana State

The Giants love big defensive linemen. And at 6'6 310 Brockers is Chris-Canty-big. Grooming Brockers behind Canty and allowing him to play with Linval Joseph down the line would maintain the Giants' commitment to successful defensive fronts.

32. New England Patriots - Mark Barron, Defensive Back, Alabama

The Patriots need help in the secondary. With the team missing on a lot of defensive back prospects in the recent past, they should be looking for some safe value picks. Barron would be a strong addition to New England's defense.

33. St. Louis Rams - Fletcher Cox, Defensive Line, Mississippi State

Cox is a big strong defender who knows how to use his body to shed blocks. Rotating him with Fred Robbins and Justin Bannan could do wonders for a St. Louis Rams defense that has shown potential but has yet to put it together.

34. Indianapolis Colts - Andre Branch, Pass Rusher, Clemson

Chuck Pagano is going to need some help with his goal of turning the tiny 43 defense in Indianapolis into a mean 34. Dwight Freeney should be able to convert, but the other side of the defense is a much bigger concern. Jerry Hughes, the one time first round draft selection out of TCU, has shown little since entering the league. And Robert Mathis is a free agent. Branch would bring a young pass rusher to the team who Pagano could mold the way he sees fit.

35. Minnesota Vikings - Alshon Jeffery, Wide Receiver, South Carolina

Minnesota really needs help at receiver. Percy Harvin has been a good player for the Vikings but is underutilized and has little help. Michael Jenkins and Devin Aromashodo are nice role players, but at this point in both of their careers I think it is safe to say neither are going to turn into a #1 option. Alshon Jeffery is a big, talented kid who could give Christian Ponder a legitimate weapon on the outside.

36. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Lamarr Miller, Running Back, Miami Florida

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers really lacked a big play threat last season. LaGarrette Blount is a bruising back but the team needs a change of pace. Selecting Miller would add instant speed to the Buc's running game. It would allow Blount to get a breather and give Josh Freeman a good receiving option out of the backfield.

37. Cleveland Browns - Brandon Weeden, Quarterback, Oklahoma State

This years version of Chris Weinke or John Beck? Maybe, but Weeden has the skills to compete in the league immediately. And if Colt McCoy is ever going to improve, the Browns have to introduce some sort of competition for him past Seneca Wallace. Weeden is a guy who could be a great backup or possibly win the starting job.

38. Jacksonville Jaguars - Harrison Smith, Defensive Back, Notre Dame

The Jags could use help in the back end. Dwight Lowery is holding down the fort at safety opposite Dawan Landry, but that really isn't a strength. Lowery would be better utilized as a corner. Harrison Smith has the ability to play both safety positions in the Jaguars defense and could make an impact on the team immediately.

39. Washington D.C. Redskins - Zebrie Sanders, Offensive Line, Florida State

Sanders, who would be a good value this late, would be a quality pick for the Redskins. It's hard to believe Jammal Brown is already 30. Trent Williams has been a good pick for the Redskins and pairing Sanders with him could be a great opportunity for the team to bookend their offensive line for years to come.

40. Carolina Panthers - Cam Johnson, Defensive Line, Virginia

The Panthers could use a lot of help defensively. And a good pass rush makes a lot of other defensive issues disappear. Pairing Cam Johnson with the team's already developed Charlie Johnson, would improve the pressure Carolina can put on the opposition's quarterback.

41. Buffalo Bills - Kelechi Osemele, Offensive Line, Iowa State

The Bills could use some help on the offensive line. Demetrius Bell has played better than most think at left tackle for the Bills, but Osemele can play inside or out. He would be a good piece to have on an offensive line that is average but not outstanding at any position.

42. Miami Dolphins - Vinny Curry, Pass Rusher, Marshall

The Dolphins are moving back to a 43 defense. They will need a a good defensive end opposite Cameron Wake if they hope to have any promise of a pass rush. Curry is a long 6-4 270lb defensive end who had a strong career at Marshall.

43. Seattle Seahawks - Nick Foles, Quarterback, Arizona

Tarvaris Jackson surprised everyone with his decent play this past season. If he hadn't gotten injured, the Seahawks may have made the playoffs. That being said, I don't know if anyone thinks he is the future of the franchise. Nick Foles is a good all around quarterback who should develop into a solid pro. Adding him to the roster would give the Seahawks some direction.

44. Kansas City Chiefs - Alameda Ta'amu, Defensive Line, Washington

Kansas City has had a rough time developing their defensive line during the Pioli era. Already present Glenn Dorsey has been disappointing and Tyson Jackson, Pioli's first draft choice as Chief's G.M., is right there with him. Adding a true nose tackle could help the mediocre play of the two ends. Kelly Gregg filled in nicely last season, but Ta'amu could be the real deal for years to come.

45. Dallas Cowboys - Jared Crick, Defensive Line, Nebraska

The Cowboys started Kenyan Coleman at defensive end last year. That's not an encouraging choice and Rob Ryan's defense did not have an encouraging season. Adding Crick to the roster would bolster a defensive line that needs to be built up around Jay Ratliff.

46. Philadelphia Eagles - Brandon Thompson, Defensive Line, Clemson

Continuing the theme of improving on defense, the Eagles could look to add depth to the defensive line. Thompson is a talented player who would fit in well in Philadelphia. Playing behind Mike Patterson and Cullen Jenkins, two knowledgeable veterans, would help Thompson develop.

47. New York Jets - Coby Fleener, Tight End, Stanford

Dustin Keller hasn't lit New York on fire. He will probably demand a bigger contract than the Jets will want to pay based on his mediocre production. Fleener is a guy who could come in and immediately replicate Keller's production if not exceed it.

48. New England Patriots - Kevin Zeitler, Offensive Line, Wisconsin

The interior line of New England is aging. Zeitler is a solid prospect who is versatile. He would be an ideal linemen for the Patriots to add to the roster.

49. San Diego Chargers - Ronnell Lewis, Pass Rusher, Oklahoma

Larry English has played poorly as a pro. The Chargers can only try and bring him along for so much longer before they need to go in another direction. Lewis is a fast, promising player who would add a lot of talent to a defense that - despite public opinion - doesn't have very much.

50. Chicago Bears - Lavonte David, Line Backer, Nebraska

The Bears need to begin preparing for the departure of Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs. The oft-injured, elderly pair aren't going to be around too much longer. A little on the slighter side, David is a kid who breaks down well and is a solid tackler. He has sideline to sideline range and doesn't overrun plays. Would be a strong prospect at outside line backer.

51. Philadelphia Eagles - Dwayne Allen, Tight End, Clemson

The Eagles thought they had a weapon at tight end a couple of years ago when Brent Celek had a breakout season, but he has regressed back into an average threat. Dwayne Allen is a kid who has the makings of a big time pro player. A big 6'4 260lbs, Allen has all the physical tools he'd need to dominate in the passing game. Whether or not he can put it all together remains to be seen, but it is a risk the Eagles might want to take as the reward could be huge.

52. Tennessee Titans - Alfonzo Dennard, Defensive Back, Nebraska

Dennard would be a steal for the Titans. And with the questions surrounding the future of Cortland Finnegan, adding a player like him to the roster can't be a bad thing and only improves upon the team's defense.

53. Cincinnati Bengals - Mike Martin, Defensive Line, Michigan

Pat Sims hasn't panned out like many thought he would early in his career. Geno Atkins is the player who has unexpectedly risen to stardom on the Bengals defensive line. And Domata Peko isn't getting any younger and isn't the force he once was. Adding a big time prospect like Martin next to Atkins could take Cincinnati's defense to the next level.

54. Detroit Lions - Juron Criner, Wide Receiver, Arizona

Criner is a receiver who has the potential of developing into a #1 option. Add that to Calvin Johnson and Titus Young and Detroit's three wide receiver sets become scary. At this point in the second round Criner would be a steal.

55. Atlanta Falcons - Bobbie Massie, Offensive Line, Mississippi

Massie is a guy who I look to shoot up the boards, maybe landing here to the Atlanta Falcons. Sam Baker has been a failure at left tackle for the team and they need to realize their mistake sooner rather than later. Massie could be the guy the Falcons bring in to correct that mistake.

56. Pittsburgh Steelers - Josh Chapman, Defensive Line, Alabama

Casey Hampton is slated have ACL surgery. Chris Hoke retired. And Steve McClendon is a good player but I don't know that the Steelers want to rely on him to anchor their defense full time. What does that boil down to? The team needs a new starting nose guard. From one 6'1 300+ pounder with a torn ACL to another, Pittsburgh could look to the ridiculously tough Chapman to replace Hampton.

57. Denver Broncos - Brock Osweiler, Quarterback, Arizona State

Tebow time might be over if Osweiler heads to Denver. The 6'8 QB has many of the qualities Tebow has. He is mobile, a natural leader, and has a weird throwing motion. He also has a skill Tebow doesn't have - when he pulls the trigger his throws sometimes reach the target. Physically, Osweiler doesn't have many equals. Jamarcus Russell comes to mind. But he does have limited experience and needs to polish his mechanics. However, this selection would be a wise one for Denver. It would give the team a chance to escape from the trap that is 'Tebowmania'.

58. Houston Texans - Stephon Gilmore, Defensive Back, South Carolina

The Texans have found a good corner, finally, in Johnathan Joseph. But opposite Joseph is the enigmatic and still struggling Kareem Jackson. It seems as if Jackson will develop into a solid pro corner, but the jury is still out. Gilmore would be a value at pick 58 and would add some much needed talent to the Texans' secondary. Behind Joseph and Jackson are the likes of Jason Allen and Brice McCain.

59. New Orleans Saints - Reuben Randle, Wide Receiver, Louisiana State

The Saints love weapons. And Rueben Randle, the local talent, could turn into a big time receiver in the league. At 6'4 210lbs, Randle could add another big play maker to the monster threats the Saints already have in Marques Colston and Jimmy Graham.

60. Green Bay Packers - Bobby Wagner, Line Backer, Utah State

All signs point to A.J. Hawk leaving Green Bay. Even if he stays, the team needs to improve its middle line backers. Hawk is awful. That leaves Desmond Bishop and D.J. Smith as the best options on the roster. Bishop is solid, but Smith is unproven. And on a team where defense was an absolute joke last season, the Packers better get some more defensive play makers if they ever hope to win another playoff game. Wagner could play inside and is a great tackler. He plays with the kind of range the Packers' defense lacks.

61. Baltimore Ravens - Chase Minnifield, Defensive Back, Virginia

Lardarius Webb has played well for the Ravens when given the chance. And Jimmy Smith had a decent rookie season, but it was littered by inconsistency. With veteran corner Dominique Foxworth seemingly leaving Baltimore, the Ravens desperately need to get some other options on the roster. Minnifield is a versatile guy who has promising coverage skills and would be a decent value at pick 61.

62. San Francisco 49ers - Stephen Hill, Wide Receiver, Georgia Tech

Comparable to his former teammate, Demaryius Thomas, Hill is a huge receiver who played in an undesirable offensive system at Georgia Tech. However, Hill's skills can't be denied. He has all the classic upside a 6'5 200lb wideout should have. He is faster than most give him credit for and doesn't drop many passes. Hill could make an instant impact on a team that needs wide receiver production badly.

63. New York Giants - Jayron Hosley, Defensive Back, Virginia Tech

Continuing to build around defense, the Giants could use a player in the back end with Hosley's potential. Aaron Ross looks to be out the door and Terrell Thomas is injury prone. Prince Amukamara had a promising rookie season when he was on the field but Corey Webster is really the only reliable corner on the Giants roster.

64. New England Patriots - Kendell Reyes, Pass Rusher, Connecticut

The Patriots should continue to add to their pass rush. Andre Carter was the most effective pass rusher they had this past season and it showed. Reyes is versatile which is always desirable to Coach Bill Belichick. And the kid gets after the quarterback maybe as well as anyone else I've seen in the class. He could make a huge difference in New England's defensive performance next season.

Nice work Shutdown.

While our defense was statistically #1 in the NFL over the last 5 years, our offensive line has been TERRIBLE over that entire span.

...and despite tww early picks the last two years I still believe our NEED on the offensive line is MUCH greater than anywhere else.

Therefore, waiting until the third round or later to pick an offensive lineman is very unwise imo.

I just don't see it that way. But I know I'm in the minority. I think our guard play is a lot worse off than our tackle play, but I just don't see the value in selecting a guard in the first or second round.

I havent gone through and read everything yet...but if your not going to keep all your mocks in the same thread (so its easier to follow) then at least put what your previous pick for that team/spot was (if you changed the pick)...that way we dont have to go to other threads to try to compare. Just a suggestion.

Anyways I'll give my thoughts on the mock soon!

i like your Steeler picks.
However else where San Fran will probably be looking for a WR
With the no. 2 pick the Rams will select Justin Blackmon or Matt Kalil or a team will trade up to that slot for robert Griffin
Matt Kalil will not fall to no. 8

I like the fact that you have gone with your own instincts and put players based on your interpretations of needs and value.

love that you have the balls to name DeCastro that high.

based on the way your mock has panned out I have no problem with Hightower in the first.

In the 2nd I can only see 3 real options based on your scenario - Chapman (NT), Gilmore (CB) and Washington (OG)

Hard to argue about 2 picks on the D side when the draft pans out that way.

Thanks, I try to avoid too many "big name" mock drafts until April. I feel like a lot of mocks just end up being cookie cutter copies of each other. Which is fine if that pick seems legit, but I've seen too many years where a selection just didn't make much sense, yet after Kiper had the projetion so did 20 other guys. I think looking at the opinion of too many others can sometimes make your own views a little murky. I try to formulate my predictions off of what I think of a team's roster, and how I evaluate the player. Of course you have to take into consideration some outside sources just so you get a feel for what other people are thinking. If I didn't, the selections above would look a lot different. Some of the guys I have going in the first round I don't view as first round talent. But it's a fine line. I tend to lean towards my opinions of a prospect over the opinions of the community.

And the DeCastro pick. If I keep him at 5 and he ends up going there I won't care if I get 31 other first round selections wrong haha. I love him to the Bucs.

I don't normally pay much attention to other teams needs, probalbly why I do so well in our draft contest, so I will keep my comments to the steelers. I think that with Adams falling where you have him there will be no chance that we go OT, and with Konz gone there is little chance we go OG. I pushed Hightower for since last years draft, but wonder if Worthy is still there, if we might take a hard look at him. I would not be disappoited with Hightower in the 1st though. I am reading now that Chapman is starting to slip a little, maybe because he was not able to take part in his All Star Game. ( He did show off his strength in the bench press. ) If he is not able to take part in the combines field workouts I wonder if he may not be able to move back into the 2nd round. ( Maybe, maybe not.)

My question to you is, If the steelers feel that they would be able to get him in the 3rd round do you think that they may try to move back into the 3rd and pick up another pick, or play it safe and take him in the 2nd?

Thank bud, I know how tough it is to do a complete mock draft, let alone a 1st, and 2nd round mock.

Thanks for the feedback

The Steelers have shown a willingness to trade up/down in the past so I could see them doing so again. But to me, if they are going to target Chapman specifically, they might be better suited making their first two selections; then trading up for him after he has fallen to a certain point in the third round. To me, if they have a second round grade on the player, snagging him in the third would result in the Steelers drafting a 1st round player and two 2nd round players according to their board. That seems like great value and adds three guys who are pretty much locks to make the team. But trading down to acquire more picks is certainly something I would consider as well. In my opinion though, if there is a player you are dead set on drafting; trading down can be very dangerous. If I'm a team I would rather trade up for a value than down for picks. Just my opinion though!

Actually, I like your rout better. That could possibly give us a two day draft of Hightower, Zeitler, and Chapman. That would please me to no end, and we just got much younger.

Yeah, those are actually the three names I was thinking of too.

Those three names are the ones most consistently bounced around here. Statistically speaking that means we should expect to land none of them.

Haha yeah exactly. I was just thinking about this actually. The only year I can really remember the Steelers eventual first round pick being a real favorite amongst the community was the Pouncey year. Almost makes me want to project Ronnell Lewis to us at pick 24 or something haha.

Actually... I'm starting to think the Steelers should select...

Round 1: Dont'a Hightower
Round 2: Ronnell Lewis
Round 3: Emmanuel Acho
