Steelers' Clark added to Pro Bowl squad

Steelers safety Ryan Clark has been named to the AFC Pro Bowl squad, replacing injured Baltimore safety Ed Reed, the team announced today. It will be the 10-year veteran's first trip to the Pro Bowl.

Clark will join four other Steelers on the AFC roster -- quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, wide receiver Mike Wallace, kick return specialist Antonio Brown and linebacker James Harrision. Center Maurkice Pouncey and safety Troy Polamalu were voted onto the team by fellow players, but they will not play because of injury.

The game will be played Sunday in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Why is Clark getting to go make it more of a joke?

I'd like to know too. Clark had a great year and was one of the main reasons why we had the #1 defense against the pass this year.

I don't know if I'm ready to see Ike quite yet.

And oh yeah Ryan Clark is very much deserving. I'll bet he appreciates it more than almost anyone there.

Congrats to Ryan. I'm glad Troy isn't playing in this meaningless game. I'd rather seem him get healthy.

Yes, it's a meaningless game. So what. Why does everyone think it has to "mean" something. They don't even play that hard in the game. The real work is done for the year for these players. The players get a cash bonus plus a family/friends vacation in paradise.

It's a reward for the players after toughing it out from training camp til December. It's meant for fun....and the players always seem thrilled to be invited. I don't care whether it's the best players or the popular ones....it's just for fun. There are other honors that the very best get added to their names. Let them have some fun in Hawaii with all the other players form all the teams. They love it.

I do wish it was still after the Superbowl. Thanks for that, Rog.

Only if Ike could do this after an interception if he made it to the Pro Bowl, then I'll be happy.
