View Full Version : 3...2...1... and Harbaugh whines again

Baltimore Ravens (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/bal/baltimore-ravens) coach John Harbaugh doesn't feel like a trip to the Super Bowl was taken away from the Ravens, but he was "surprised" that the officials didn't review Lee Evans (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/5538/lee-evans)' fourth-quarter drop in the end zone.

It looked like the Ravens had taken the lead in the AFC championship game when Evans had the ball in his hands in the end zone. But Evans had the ball stripped away by undrafted rookie Sterling Moore (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/14802/sterling-moore) with 27 seconds remaining.

After Billy Cundiff (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/4245/billy-cundiff)'s missed 32-yard field goal finished off a 23-20 loss (http://espn.go.com/blog/afcnorth/post/_/id/41033/rapid-reaction-patriots-23-ravens-20) to the New England Patriots (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/ne/new-england-patriots), some Ravens wondered whether Evans had possession of the ball and both feet down before he lost the ball. A touchdown would have given the Ravens a 27-23 lead.

Because it was under two minutes, it becomes the officials' call whether to review the play.

"I tried to get [the officials'] attention and thought it would be looked at," Harbaugh said. "I thought they would have at least looked at it. I was surprised that they didn't look at it. Obviously, in that situation, I thought they would have looked at it.".............

What are they going to look at? He dropped the ball. No TD, you know the stupid rule. How many catches and TDs have been taken away from the Steelers and nobody else cared?

What a crybaby. Evans should have held onto the ball.

harbaugh is an obnoxious dirt bag.

"The ruling on the field of an incomplete pass was confirmed by the Instant Replay assistant, correctly, and as a result, there was no need to stop the game," Signora wrote. "... The receiver did not get his second foot down in the end zone with possession, and as a result, it was an incomplete pass."

You can slow it down on the video here... @ about the 21-22 second mark.

So close, but in the end another crushing defeat and once again denied. The Ravens just aren't good enough. Maybe they should try competition gardening.

Lee Evans, who was a complete waste of a pickup, had a chance to go to the Super Bowl had he concentrated on the pass.

never fails. this constant crying after every loss is why i would rather see the rats denied a trip to the superbowl. both harbaughs cry for penalties all game long and send small hints of their crying about the refs to the media after losing. be a fucking man about it

Irony is he has a more legitimate beef with the next play. The receiver got absolutely mugged by a Pat*. That was textbook defensive holding.

Yeah, I hope they both enjoy those first place schedules next year too, life is a little tougher when you are on top bitches. Oh enjoy the tough drafting too at 29 and 30. It isn't all peaches and cream when you actually win a playoff game or two.

Now there's a big surprise. King of the whiners. It was obvious that Evans didn't get the second foot down before losing the ball. There was no need for a review.

This is the Baltimore Ravens DDF, being classless is the modus operandum down there. Harbitch is a perfect fit for them as head coach.

I think they changed the rules for who coaches the Pro Bowl. I'm pretty sure its the Highest seeds that lose in the Divisional Round....so it'll be the Houston Coaching staff vs the Saints coaching staff? Is that right?

That is correct, except it would be the Packers instead of the Saints

On Sunday the announcer said that he was perfect on what's considered "chip shot" field goals....Cundiff shanked it.

In the 2005 playoffs the announcers mentioned that Vanderjerk had the best percentage in made field goals in NFL history....he shanked the kick sending the Steelers to Denver for the AFC Championship Game.

Those are the first two that come to mind.

Compare Harbaugh to Tomlin. We were screwed on that "malfunctioning" play clock and got a delay of game and he didn't cry about it. Or, how the Jagoff press tried to bait him into crying about the no-hold calls in the playoffs loss.

He's changed his story since the original story was posted. Typical Harbaugh.

Read some of the comments on the scoreboard story (http://blogs.baltimoreravens.com/2012/01/25/harbaugh-scoreboard-not-a-factor/?module=HP11_headline_stack) from the Baltimorons. They're all still crying about the game, crying about the officiating, etc.

Yeah it was kinda like when Vanderchoke shanked that 46 yard fg against the steelers in the 2005 playoffs when the Bryant Gumbel said here is the most accurate fg kicker in NFL history.
