Looks like "another" stall tactic. I would volunteer to personally go over and fight these guys. If these guys get a nuke, the world will see it's 1st nuclear war soon. No way can we let these radicals stock-pile nukes.

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps said on Saturday it considered the likely return of U.S. warships to the Gulf part of routine activity, backing away from previous warnings to Washington not to re-enter the area.

Geee .... what a surprise. The mighty Iranian Navy doesn't want to mess with a U.S Navy Carrier Group (soon to be two). Who didn't see that coming? Hows that song go? "We'll put a boot in your ass .........."

It's the American way.

I'm not sure they even really want a nuke. I think the mere threat of a nuke serves all their purposes...and there was never any chance of them blocking the strait, because that's how they ship all their oil, too.

The ONLY way they would is if we made the huge mistake of actually slapping some kind of sanction on Iran that equated to cutting off all their oil money...then we would put them in the position where they have nothing to lose.

Of all the coutries that we invaded or went to war with since Vietnam, Iran is the one that should have been a priority.

Actually, I think it's more like "Of all the Countries that participated in the Arab Spring and ousting their own corrupt regimes, Iran should have been the primary country for us to focus on".

So far we have been reasonable. We've flexed our muscles, and some Countries have boycotted their oil. As long as we don't corner the wild animal and give them no reason NOT to close the strait, we should be okay.

Surprise surprise surprise!

After their currency started tanking, and the US and allies rattled a few sabers in the gulf, suddenly Iran wants to open talks back up and allow inspectors back in to take a look at their nukes.

The Iranian government is full of shit. I'm just hoping they don't provoke a war with Israel and the US in the next decade, because the younger generations in that country are much more modernized and open-minded. I'm pretty sure the Iranian government is one more rigged election away from revolution.

The people there just have no idea how much power they actually yield.

Iran is threatening to hit back with a "crushing response" if attacked by the U.S.

Where have we heard this (cough Baghdad Bob cough) before?

DUBAI (Reuters) - The United States would not be safe from retaliation if Iran is attacked by Washington, the Iran newspaper quoted a senior Revolutionary Guards commander on Tuesday as saying.
"In the face of any attack, we will have a crushing response. In that case, we will not only act in the boundaries of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf, no place in America will be safe from our attacks," Massoud Jazayeri was quoted as saying by the daily.

They really don't want to do that. Instead of just bombing nuke sights, we'll end up invading their country.

If we invaded and committed 100% to a war, it would be doing the world a favor. Hezbollah and the other fanatics would have no place to hide. Syria would implode. The Middle East would be a much safer place, ironically.

Does Iran really think they would do better than Iraq if we were to take our gloves off?

They would shit their pants when we went from:

We will never commit to all-out War again. And whatever half-measures and "leading from behind" strategies THIS president comes up with will only make things worse...

We will never commit to all-out War again.

Er... I'm not so sure about that.

Not all-out War. Like in WWII. Now we only fight surgical Wars waged on PR campaigns where we have to apologize if "innocent" civilians get killed.
