I hope so. Getting tired of those Yellow Helmets & White Pants. They've become a jinx (Three bad home losses over the past four years playing in them).

Some speculate they might be the 1967 "Batman" throwbacks, though it isn't confirmed what they'll actually look like.

I'd actually like to see them go with the road throwbacks of the early 70's with white on white the next time they play an opponent wearing their throwbacks.

They should put the block numbering back onto the uniform instead of what they have now.

No way! I love those! haha

Never understood why that change was made to begin with. At this point, may as well just keep them, but...

I never understood it either. To me the block numbering fits the Steelers better than what they use now. Wishful thinking I guess.

I'm not a huge fan of the current throwbacks, although they are good bit more pleasant than the horrible 1994 75th anniversary throwback. Those were just horrible.

If we have to do it (and the NFL demands jersey changes every few years as a straight-up cash grab),the all whites above aren't that bad at all...

The reason they wont is because throwbacks are all about selling jerseys. Even though the all white looks sharp as hell, (to me) they don't sell pants at NFL properties, therefore it's wont happen.

I'd argue they'd have a much better chance selling something familiar but slightly different than the regular jerseys than they do selling something outlandish. I was NEVER going to shell out a single dollar for the '94 disasters, and I wasn't all that big of a fan of the current ones. Put out a white throwback with block letters and maybe a patch or something denoting which year they represent and I'd probably buy one.

I still have two official jerseys (home and away) from the 95 season. I bought them customized with my own name on the back. They were the block numbers, but I later added the rounded characters for my name as a sort of update, so now my jerseys are kind of a hybrid. I think it's been long enough that many people would buy a throwback with block letters and numbers...

I wish they would just keep the jerseys the way they are. Why change them, there's nothing wrong with them.

Money. I think it was the 49ers that started the trend back in the early 90s. They kept changing their uniforms and fans kept buying the new versions.

This year. Thats why you'll be seeing all NFL Reebok stuff on sale right now. A Champs Sports employee told me to keep my eye out at the beginning of the year because there will be some good deals on jerseys/etc.

As far as the throwbacks...I have no problem with the ones they have been wearing. The "Batman" ones dont look terrible either...so who knows.

But changing the jerseys makes me not want to buy them. I hope the NFL doesn't become like the UEFA Champions league where they change their jerseys every damn year.

Please don't give Goodell any ideas...

Even with Nike becoming the uniform provider, I don't see teams like the Steelers, Packers, Browns, etc. changing their uniform designs even though Nike loves to put out 100+ different uniform combinations.

They were, until recently, selling these in the official online store.

Only problem... it was only offered as an "authentic", and it cost @ $300. I like it though. :noidea:

Andy Russell has said the Steelers of the time hated that uniform. That jersey was used in 67, and the Batman series was on tv then. Apparently the Steelers called it their "caped crusader" uniform, as did the rest of the players in the league. :pointlaugh:

All the authentic's are like $300. Even back in 1995 when I bought mine (ironically enough, from Bernie Kosar's company, since my ex-wifes mom was close friends with Kosar's dad) at a great discount, I paid something like $275 for two customized authentic jerseys. It's a major financial commitment...

It's well worth it though!

These should be the "new" road uniforms.. IMO they look better then with gold pants... Block numbers are also better..
