Its demonstrates the importance of having a healthy Woodley.

Huh? But we have had the NFL's best pass defense this year! lol

Pass defense in yards allowed, no where close to leading in sacks.

And let's not forget the lack of turnovers. Pressure begets mistakes, mistakes beget turnovers. We did not have it this year.

Ask the genius that is LeBeau.

Yeah. I was just half-joking and grasping at straws. This loss just really sucks. Sigh... Nevertheless a 12-4 record heading into the playoffs following a Super Bowl loss is nothing to sneeze at!

No real pressure, horrible TO ratio. They need to just get healthy and retool for next year.

The Pass Rush and Pressure wasn't there all year, and the Turnovers were down. It showed big time in the Baltimore games.

A loss is never easy to take, especially the way we lost tonight. I hate losing to teams we are better than. Injuries were an equalizer, but our pass defense was piss poor today. Not just Ike.

I know this will come off as whining and sour grapes.....but Harrison is held repeatedly game after game with very few flags thrown. If our best pass rusher can't get a fair shake the pressure is going to be diminished.

Are you going to create 500 more threads that we already know about. Come on man.

Let's keep in mind that by halftime, all three of our D-line starters were out, and we came into the game without Hoke as well.

If your defensive line is a MASH unit, you're not gonna get to the quarterback.

I didn't think so.

It was sitting on the sideline injured most of the night, duh.

LeBeau's blitzes are either completely figured out or the guys we have can't get the job done any longer.

It amazes me how little pressure this team gets on an opposing QB.

I think we see the impact of not having Aaron Smith all year. Thanks for the years Aaron, we are going to miss you.

Good posts COunt. This was a weird year on defense. They were very good but never seemed inspired...

Our defense looked (for the most part) to simply want to keep Tebow in the pocket . . . and dare him to beat us with his arm . . . and guess what . . .

That SOB did!

Aaron was a HUGE loss for us this year.

He wasn't playing that well even when he was in there this year.

The biggest problem is that Ziggy didn't improve from last year to this year to replace Aaron again.

The Steelers need to let Aaron retire or let him go to free up the cap space.

It wasn't that we were missing Smith. We've basically been playing without him for three years now.

I thought for sure our defense was going to get in Tebow's head and force at least a couple turn overs..

2008 version of Aaron is long gone. He was nowhere near the same as that year.

Amen to that. Besides Deebo's and Wood's injuries have contributed.

Holding??? I watch all the games this weekend and saw no holding calls on O-lines. Pretty sure the refs were encouraged to keep the games flowing. No big deal so long as it goes both ways and it did, our guys were holding plenty too.

It all started with the draft of Bruce Davis, then Thad Gibson and now Worilds. Harrison with back problems, Woodley injured and Farrior old with no young LB prospects in waiting.

The easy selection was Cliff Avril if they wanted an Olb, but they gambled on Davis.

Absolutely. The injury bug really helped to lead them to their demise this season.

Spot on.
