What a week for WR Antonio Brown; named to the Pro Bowl and now he's been voted #Steelers MVP by teammates. #ValueIn6thRound195thOverall

love love love AB, he's been a great and the awards are well deserved ...BUT...how is ben not the MVP??? i guess many on the team still don't like him personally.

without AB we still easily win between 8 and 11 games (with ward or cotchery opposite wallace, not a bad wr
corps).
without Ben we win 4 to 6 games, maybe.

just sayin'

Well, it looks like they wanted to give the award to someone who had a breakout year. Ben's having a good year, but by his standards, it's almost expected. And giving it to the QB every year is almost too simple and routine. It was his teammates that were voting on it, not the fans or the coaching staff or the league, remember.

Brown has had a stellar breakout season...but...

The Steelers win...maybe...5 games without Ben and he's not the MVP!

They don't have # 5 or 6 without him either...and he's received only one MVP in his tenure with the Steelers.

While I agree with this, I don't think the players want to be giving the Team MVP to the same exact person every single year. I am sure Ben will win it again at some point.

Got no problem w/Antonio getting it.

But how many times has Ben won it? Once in 2009.

Also Farrior won the Chief Award and Gilbert won the Rookie of the Year award.

Congrats to them and AB. He deserves it he had a solid and COMPLETE year (compared to others). No matter who won it people would still argue someone else should have.

the award is called most VALUABLE player, not "breakout player of the year". and ben only has one in seven years, not every year.

congrats AB!!!

maybe ben will finally get super bowl MVP this year!

Brown has not missed a game and made some huge catches, albeit those were incredible passes too.

Gilbert got ROY only because he started by default.

Well deserved. Funny how Batch killed Ben's chance with the win against St. Louie...lol.

That and no other rookie out played Gilbert...had Heyward or C. Brown been starters and played as much and good as Gilbert did maybe they'd have a chance.

Not at all. Brown just happened to set the franchise all-purpose yardage record and he's playing with the hot hand. That's why he got it.

In a breakout second year, Brown has 63 receptions for 1,018 yards, both of which rank second to wide receiver Mike Wallace. What makes Brown so valuable is his contribution on special teams. He ranks second in the AFC in kickoff return average (27.7 yards) and fourth in punt return average (10.8) with one touchdown.

Loved that catch....but that was last year....so that really shouldnt have anything to do with this years MVP voting.

So how well did Gilbert actually do for his rookie year for where we drafted him?

Personally I was ecstatic that we took Gilbert even though there were many complaints on this this board that he was a poor value.
