Putting five players in the Pro Bowl isn't bad but having just one represent from the No. 1 defense in the NFL is a slight. Troy Polamalu is the only player from the Steelers defense on the Pro Bowl team, although three are alternates and could ultimately make it -- James Harrison, LaMarr Woodley and Ryan Clark.

I thought Brett Keisel and maybe Ike Taylor deserved it.

Blame it on the lack of big plays. The Steelers have only 14 turnovers compared to 35 and their sacks are way down as well, they have only 33 entering their final game. They had 48 last season, 47 in 2009, 51 in 2008. Unless they pick up a few more sacks on Sunday, they're going to have one of the lowest totals in the past 20 years. They had only 36 in 2007 and 39 in 2006., 35 in 2003, 39 in 2000.

In 2008, the Steelers' historically legendary "do-everything" big play defense only sent three players to the Pro Bowl (Farrior, Harrison, and Troy). Tennessee in that same year sent five.

I don't think lack of big plays is the issue here.

In 2007, the Cowboys had 11 Pro Bowl players!

I reminds me of the 2008 snub of Hampton, Woodley and Taylor.

And I'm still angry that Wallace was not the Pro Bowl in 2010.

Yeah, so we don't have the great individuals, but we have a great D.

Doesn't help that we have the reputation of being "dirty".

The Pro Bowl isn't so much a reflection of the ability (or lack thereof) of the players, rather the general mental retardation of the average voting fan...I doubt the average idiot clicking on the ballot has any idea that the Steelers turnover ratio was way down.
