Gotta give it to Mendy. He ran hard today and made small plays big. This was also his second one hundred plus rushing game.

Agreed. Mendenhall did a nice job.

Also will give some credit to Jonathan Scott. Got beat a few times but sealed the edge when he did. Not bad going against Chris Long and not knowing he'd start until warmups. Trai Essex as well for filling in at center.

How about essex for filling in at center and batch at qb, nice job stepping up.

Gotta go with Charlie. A bad backup can lose a game. Charlie did us proud today!

Agreed. Anyone know what Charlie's all time record is as a starter for the Steelers? We don't lose often when he starts, I know that.

No 1-2 people on D stand out to me (Troy did his usual)...so I cant name just a person there.

I'd have to go with Batch, Mendy AND Essex...he played great filling in at C.

And honorable mention to Suisham!

I'm thinking it's now 5-2 but I could be wrong. I thought I read that it was 4-2 going into this game.

My brother was at the game and said the crowd was really behind Charlie and was chanting his name all game.

He is <3'd . :chuckle:

Hard to pin this one on a single player but ill give it to Mendenhall. Special mentions for Troy and Batch, both did great. That interception was a perfect throw, just a slip by Brown so its all good.

I have to say Charlie. A special shout-out to Essex as well. These guys lived up to the "next man up" mantra.

Mendenhall, Batch, Essex. Defense could use some work in the run department...

Or maybe it's a matter of gaining newfound respect for Stephen Jackson like I did. Great player and it's a shame he's wasting his effort and career on a shitty team like the Rams.

The three toughest rb's in the league to tackle are AP, Jackson and (unfortunately) Ray Rice. When healthy, I think Jackson might be the toughest of all.

He may be considerably slower than 3-4 years ago, but the man is still impossible to tackle

he deserves a better team

I think it's probably unanimous by this point, but Batch, Mendy tied for the top ball, and Essex third.

I was also VERY happy with Troy. It seemed like he had his spark back. That can only spell danger for the playoffs. Harrison looked like an animal. It'd be nice to see our top 2 or 3 D players coming on strong in the playoffs.

the whole team, but there is nothing to get excited over. the steelers beat an awful team without their starting QB. a win is a win so you take it, but the steelers need to start beating playoff caliber teams.

are they capable of beating the ravens? can they beat the patriots again, but this time on the road? they should be able to beat the texans with schaub out.

one thing is certain...and that's the steelers need to get healthy and play with some fire. no more sitting back with a pansy defense. they need to attack. the steelers ranked 18th in sacks? come on...

Yes, very true. Steven Jackson is the one player on another team that I've wanted for the Steelers. From everything that I've heard/read locally, the Rams would be willing to deal him for a 3rd round pick. IMO he's definitely worth it and would fit perfectly with the Steelers. Nothing against Mendy because I like him, but he's no Steven Jackson. Jackson is also a good presence in the locker room and a good teammate. He's never gotten in to any kind of trouble while with the Rams.

Jackson is a great RB but our DL was getting pushed back the whole game by the crappy, mostly backup OL, of the Rams. Our DL didn't have a good game against the run.

Can't say that I would put Rice above MJD. MJD is a more powerful runner than Rice and he sheds tackles.

Fair enough. I think Jones Drew is excellent as well. I think part of his success is that the the defensive players don't see him until he is through the hole, but he is definately a force. Jackson has been doing it for so long. I don't see AP or Rice lasting as long.

Although, fortunatly for their teams, all four have a reserve of suddeness and glide.

I now he's not a player, but besides Mendenhall, Bruce Arians made a great game plan. The Steelers ran the ball effectively :applaudit:

I gotta go with Exxex ! Never taking a snap in game time....did a pretty damn good job if you ask me, and I'm sure Charlie would agree.
