View Full Version : Anyone else having trouble getting up for the last two games?

We're pretty much locked into the 5 seed so winning or losing doesn't affect anything.

And the opponents are boring. A terrible Rams team this weekend. And I know the Clowns are supposed to be a rival, but a hammer and nail are not rivals. Beating them is like shooting fish in a barrel. It doesn't stay fun for very long.

Since I now refuse to watch any other games besides Steelers games due to the assclown who is, in my opinion, wrecking the league, no. Steelers games are all I look forward to at this point. I miss the game I fell in love with as a child and grew up with. This ain't it.

I have to admit that I always get excited to watch the Steelers, even if it is a game against STL. I guess I have an unhealthy obsession. I also have some fantasy football interests with the Steelers this weekend, since I'm in the championship game in my league.

I have no idea how this idea that we were "locked in "at the #5 thing got started, but it's wildly inaccurate. The Cheats probably won't lose again, but the Texans don't have a QB, and Cinci came within a Bengals whisker of beating the Rats in Baltimore, and they will be at home, for sure playing spoiler, and possibly (although it's a remote chance) playing for the #6 spot themselves. We beat the Rams and Cleveland, the Texans lose another game that they would have won had Shaub been under center, and the ratfilth loses in Cincinnati, and we are right back at #2.

Exactly. And even if the Texans don't lose and we end up with the 3 seed, that means a home game in the wildcard round and also gives you a decent chance to host the AFC title game if the Ravens beat the Broncos and follow it up with a win in their divisional playoff game.

To claim the last two games are "meaningless" is ludicrous.

I'm up for them because it's the Steelers who are playing. Period. Point blank. End of discussion.

Not having any problems at all. We need to win these games. Besides the outside shot of getting one of the top two seeds, we have no momentum at all after the last game, which is not a good thing.

Honestly Godfather, I've never even thought about having an erection during the game.

Otherwise, I am totally fired up to watch both games.

They MUST establish a tempo NOW if they expect to be playing in the AFC Championship and superbowl.

I consider these games CRITICAL. It is time to get serious and take care of business. Period.

There are only...potentially 19 a season. I'm looking forward to the Rams game.

I had a hard time getting up for the 49ers game.. No Pouncey no Harrison, Ben crippled, I already had an idea of the outcome... Then the power outages when we happen to have the ball.. Then the three terrible penalties. I figured this would happen... I'll get up for the playoffs..

Aside from the Pats* game, I've had a hard time getting up for any games all season. Tebowmania, all of these fines and pussy rules have just about sapped the remaining hardcore fandom I have left.

Pretty much... Every time the Steelers make a tackle I expect a flag... It sucks.

Bah. You got me there.

I'm sure I'll get pumped when the games are actually played, but right now it feels like a couple of meaningless games against crappy teams.

I hate to agree with you, but I agree with you.

There are two games left. Win both and have the Ravens and Texans drop one each and Pittsburgh is sitting pretty. Why Steelers fans would be willing to throw in the towel, so-to-speak, and readily accept the 5th seed is preposterous.

I think some of it has to do with the press. The NFL's talking heads pretty much have handed the division to the Ravens and have all but relegated the Steelers to the 5 seed, and people keep hearing it and just take it as fact without questioning it.

What real fan listens to the #@^&! press? The "press" had Baltimore annointed as AFCN division champs weeks ago, with the #1 seed as of last week. I don't believe shit until it's a done deal. If anything is possible, than anything's possible.

Hey it's not where I'm at. I was saying even before last week's games that nothing would be decided until the final week.

1st Seed, 6th Seed, doesn't fcking matter to me as long as we are in the Dance. And we are in the Dance.

So I'm up for a good ole fashion beat the snot out of the bad team we are playing after a loss game this weekend. I'm up for watching us pound the living crap out of the Rams so bad that the waffling on whether or not to fire their coach is figured out by halftime and his bags are packed before he gets back on the bus to the hotel. Ef them, their crappy luck for drawing our Straw after a pathetic game on Monday.

Yeah, that's about how I see it. And since I only look at one game ahead, EF THE RAMS! I HATE THEM RIGHT NOW AND AM UP! for this game!

I'm still excited to watch the black/yellow play, but not like I was weeks ago. As you say, we are in the playoffs, just don't know exactly what seed. I'm still pissed, first of all about losing the 2nd ratbird game, a game we should have clearly won. And I'm still pissed about losing the 49rs game, another game we could have won.....IF we had a QB that was healthy. But, being none of that happened I'm in the 'end of the season' mode. Just watching the remaining games and seeing who knocks who out, and trying to figure on who I want to win what games. I hate the ratbirds, but I also hate the bungholes and their obnoxious fans. I hate the thought of the bungholes beating the ratbirds and then having to listen to their moron fans chanting the 'who dey' crap and telling me how they could beat a team that WE couldn't....ugh. So, I might be leaning to hoping the rats win, being the odds are that they will win the division anyway, and hoping that the bungholes are finished and we just have to go to INDIANAPOLIS via 5th seed, which can be done ...don't forget that we won Super Bowl via 6th seed !! GO STEELERS

I always enjoy watching our team play. Only when it's truly a scrubb game, do I get ho-hum about it.
