Roethlisberger showed enough in Saturday practice that decision was made for him to play. Source said "he's good enough to go."

Ben Roethlisberger expected to start tomorrow night against the 49ers. Decision was made even before Ravens’ loss in San Diego

Figured as much when I read he participated in practice yesterday, albeit in a limited capacity. Hope he can be effective.

Mistake, but it is what it is. I'd rather have him healthy for the playoffs.

Dulac said in his tweet that the decision was made before the SD/BAL game.

Hope he doesn't float some bad ones, because he can't put his weight into them. But He's still our best chance to win and take advantage of what the Rats have given us.

It may be. Then again, he has had 10 full days for it to recover. I know high ankle sprains take longer than that, but hopefully with enough tape...

Anyone want to chip in for an extra roll of duct tape.

I'll chip in for duct tape!!!

The Steelers got a nice little pile of presents with the losses yesterday. Now all they have to do is help themselves with a W tonight! :tt03:

Let's wrap up the game by half time and then Ben can rest. Couple of early TDs will knock the wind out of SF's sails.

We win tonight, we can rest him the next two weeks, then a third for the bye...

I'm with you here and we'll see what happens. I'm sure the training staff will have him taped to tell and back. :heh:

GO BEN!

the risk seems worth it. going from a 1 to 5 seed is likely on the line tonight. gives you the extra bye week and it comes through pittsbugh.

The Steelers will not be able to run tonight against the best defense against the run in the NFL.

Its a good idea to pass the ball 50 times as against the patriots!

Screw getting duck tape for him, I'm buying bubble wrap!

Ge the ball out fast and let the receivers get some YAC....

I see a very ultra conservative game with low scoring. When Ben is back in the pocket he can't be improvising tonight. If no one is open on the initial read throw the ball out of bounds. The line is going to have to play well and open up some holes for the running game.

I have a good feeling about tonight. Defense needs to keep Gore in check. Needless to say this is a huge game.

Go Steelers!

Short Quick passes and, please o-line keep Ben clean.

Schefter is reporting its still a game time decision.

If he plays...3 step drop, quick passes, use Miller as a receiver...NOT A SIDE CAR BLOCKER!

I'll chip in for that!

But seriously, I bet this motivates this team. They know there QB is hurting and he is still out there. That will fire them up to play better for Benny and his high ankle sprain.

Again, if he can limp he can walk!
