Prior to games, the NFL sends out interesting tidbits of stats, information about certain team matchups. The NFL just released this interesting bit of information on the Pittsburgh Steelers' visit to the San Francisco 49ers this Monday:


Pittsburgh (10-3) will face San Francisco (10-3) on Monday Night Football this week, marking the fourth game in MNF history featuring two teams with at least 10 wins and a winning percentage of .750 or better. The 49ers played in all three previous occurrences.

Matt Maiocco broke down the previous three games that the 49ers were involved


Dec. 14, 1987: 49ers (10-2) vs. Chicago (10-2). Outcome: 49ers 41, Bears 0
Dec. 3, 1990: 49ers (10-1) vs. N.Y. Giants (10-1). Outcome: 49ers 7, Giants 3
Dec. 15, 1997: 49ers (12-2) vs. Denver (11-3). Outcome: 49ers 34, Broncos 17

The Giants(1990) and the Broncos(1997)have lost vs 49ers, but they won the super bowl in 1990 and 1997!
