Injuries

I am new to this board. Used to be on pghsportstalk but there was barely any usage over there. Was a longtime reader of espn message board as well. Wanted to hear people's thoughts on some of our injuries with the huge game coming up. Is there any news on Ben for this week? I'm sure Pouncey won't be playing, but is there a timeline for him? How about Woodley? With Harrison possibly getting suspended, it would be nice to get him back. Also, does anyone know if Patrick Willis will be back for this game? Any other key injuries to note?

Welcome aboard! I dont think there are many people who can tell what the future will be on this MB, haha....you'll have to wait and see like the rest of us do when it comes to this stuff. Also just as every other week of the season Tomlin has his Tuesday press conference where he usually tries to give injury updates. Other than that you'll just have to keep and eye/ear out for things and check practice reports/etc like the rest of us.

Yeah, i know reports usually come out on Tuesday, but since we played on Thursday, I was not sure if anyone had further info. Also, since i live in Florida, I cannot listen to pitt sports radio, like some of you, so I wasnt sure if they were talking about some of the injuries on the radio shows.

I haven't heard anything either. I live in FL too so I rely a lot on these message boards for new information. Stillers4me (she's a MOD here) has done a fantastic job up keeping a facebook and twitter account for up to date information, along with re-tweets from the players themselves. @Steelers_Univer (https://twitter.com/#!/Steelers_Univer). I strongly suggest subscribing to the tweets.

As far as the injuries go, I think Ben will be back before Pouncey which is a little worrisome because Ben is going to need all the protection he can get as hobbled up as he is. I will say our O-line did a great job keeping him upright for the second half against the Cleveland Skidmarks but I don't think they will hold up as well against an angry 49ers team.

I don't think he was looking for an answer set in stone. More likely trying to engage in conversation/ hear opinions from fellow Steeler fans on a new message board. We should be a little more welcoming..

IMO Pouncey should be able to go, Ben will probably go... Hood I don't know.

what is the issue with Hood? I don't see how Pouncey will be able to go. A high ankle sprain for a QB is one thing but for a center to play les than 2 weeks after seems like a stretch. I know he says he'll play, but he said that last year and didnt play.

Pouncey does not need to play. I can't imagine he would be effective...

I agree.. one thing to 'scramble' in the pocket with a taped up, cortisone injected high ankle sprain but it's another to have to stop/over power two linemen with one. Even if he could play, how much time is Ben really going to have to get rid of the ball?
