My husband, wearing a Steelers jersey, got booed by the Salvation Army guy outside of Krogers this morning. He said that the Bengals were going to Heinz Field and 'kick some ass today'.

That's funny - - I texted that exact phrase to a friend of mine who had texted me and asked which girl scout troop we were playing today - - he was watching his game (Vikings) and was watching our score build up......

It just seemed to me that all of the mismatched and uneven parts of the team and performances that we have been dealing with this season started to be cured as the team matured and learned how all of the parts can fit together effectively.... I hope that we can build on this new maturity, and take it all the way to Indianapolis in February....

Actually it was more like a complete 30 minute effort. The first quarter sucked and if not for the Bengals shooting themselves in the foot with penalties we would have been in a hole. The last 15 minutes wasn't really quality football since the game was pretty much over.

But I'll take that kind of 30 minutes any week. :clap2:

Disagree...the 1st qtr was marred by dropped passes and a spectacular catch by Green. The blocked FG was in the first quarter, as was Brown's 45 yard snag.

Exactly. Most people don't realize that blowouts do not happen in the first quarter. It takes that long for teams to dance with each other and get the feel.

Guess we just have a different definition of "complete effort." To me, dropped passes by our guys and great plays by the other guys is kind of the opposite.

But I'm not trying to knock our guys. I'd much rather have us start out flat and go on to play lights outs than the other way around.

Um, that's actually been true for decades. It's also true across most sports, least the ones I've played. Until you get a feel for the other team, what their doing, how their playing, etc., you can't attack them in their weak areas. Film will only tell you so much. Heck, even in boxing that happens at times, especially if it's an unknown opponent.

You aren't getting the jist of my joke. What I'm saying is he'd rather them "dance" with each other (i.e. not HIT) than have real tackle football. :chuckle:

That was the FIRST WIN that I am actually well satisfied with. As I said in a thread a few days ago, a win is good-no doubt....but, with our talent, experience and playing at home...against the bungholes rookies, injuries, lack of experience, and playing on the road....we should beat them by 2 - 3 TD's, with no trouble !!! LOL...AND THEY DID !!! GO STEELER'S
