They run the same scheme. They have the same coach. They again rank highly among NFL defenses.

But no one calls them Blitzburgh anymore, not even close. That was a term used to describe the mid-1990s defenses that included an architect named Dick LeBeau, defenses that rang up a team-record 55 sacks in '94 and 51 in '96.

When it comes to sacks, Zipsburgh might be a more appropriate way to describe them this season............

The fact that Harrison and Woodley have not played in the same game since Week 4, explains of the little sacks than the Steelers have.

So if we haven't been playing all these mediocre QB's we'd be headed to a 6-10 record got it.

If more teams are copying what the Pats do to us, then WHY aren't we using more of the heavy press-man coverage approach that we just shut down Brady with? Not all the time, but mix it in...keep them guessing. We added that new tool to the toolbox and it's sitting there getting dusty.

Didn't you get the memo that says the lack of sacks is Brucey's fault ? LOL

It seems like Lebeau has been taking it easy on opposing QBs so far. He might be trying to save some surprises for the playoffs. No use winning all the season stats and losing the SB. Sure hope we get to face Rodgers once more in the SB.

If that is the reason he didn't blitz more in the last drives of the 4th quarter in games we lost ...well, I question him going overboard with this "saving it for the playoffs" strategy.

However, if Harrison, Woodley and Polamalu are healthy, I truly believe a suffocating blitz, coupled with our strong pass defense...would give us a very solid shot at winning it all.

Pretty much. Those short sputtery drives make the game take too long so everyone tries to run the ball instead :)
