He said that it's been going on for about a week. Saw him at the Penguins game last week too.

He said the he didn't know if Reed has been with the team or not, but has definitely been working out at the Steelers complex.

Also said that Reed is in tremendous shape.

This could be interesting.

This was debunked by Gerry Dulac last week on the Post-Gazette Plus site. He was NOT in for a workout.

Yep. Journalists tend to be full of crap 75% of the time anyway. Apparently, he was in town to attend a Penguins game and "hung out" at the facility to catch up with his ex-teammates, but who knows?

Guess a lot of folks forget how badly Reed sucked last year before he was finally shown the door...

Reed was bad for only one season...Sushi has always unclutch during his career...Reed was a very good clutch kicker for the Steelers throughout his career, except for the game against the Bears in 2009.

I have more confidence in Reed that sushi right now.

If Reed still had it, he'd be on a roster. Just saying.

I'll take a worse Reed over sushi. Reed had a really good year with the 49ers after we cut him last year.

I thought a big part of Reed being cut was his attitude and sulking about not getting a new contract.

Shanking two very makeable FG attempts, one being extra point range, against NE last year along with being shaky all season up to that point had a lot to do with it as well.

It was because I have more confidence in Reed that in sushi.....Reed had ONE bad season in his career.

Mark Stark was unemployed in September and since it is very good for the steelers, so we could try the same thing to Reed!

His would be a horrible feeling if the Steelers lose the Super Bowl in the same way that the bills in 1990.

Do any of you locals have any gossip on what happened to Reed? His downfall is remarkably similar to what I've seen of some players from my college who contemporaneously went pro and started "partying" way too much.

if skippy still had it he would be in SF or seattle. I do not want him on the roster.

Reed gave us a lot of good years, but his attitude really began to reek and if affected his performance on the field.

Maybe when the Niners cut him, he did a little soul-searching and decided to clean up his act. If this is indeed the case, I would be more than happy to have him back in the Black and Gold.

Agreed. Jeff may have realized how good he had it in Pittsburgh. Reed was very dependable for a long time. I'd welcome him back too.

Maybe being part of a super bowl winning team is a lifetime gym membership at the Steelers facilities??

I think you all know I sure wouldn't mind seeing my Skippy back here in the B & G! His attitude and off the field issues are what pissed the FO off more than him missing a couple of FG's imho. He's still pretty much money in the bank at HF and now that kickoffs are from the 35 yl, he should have no problem getting the pigskin into the EZ on kickoffs, something we all bitched about.

Wow. Amazing how hard it is to find 1 person out of 7 Billion that's reliable enough to kick a ball through two beams ?

And even fewer who can actually do it really well.

The new kicker's view cameras show you how hard it really is to hit a FG from range. Even from 30 yards out those posts look pretty narrow from where the kicker is standing. We're used to seeing the opposite angle that makes attempts look much easier than they are.
