Receivers Arnaz Battle (hamstring), Jerricho Cotchery (knee) and Emmanuel Sanders (knee), linebackers Stevenson Sylvester (knee) and LaMarr Woodley (hamstring) and safety Troy Polamalu (rib) did not practice yesterday. Receiver Hines Ward (concussion-like symptoms), guard Doug Legursky (toe) and linebacker James Farrior (calf) fully participated.

Good news in that were getting back LeGurskey and probably Farrior. Of course I'm not sure I want LeGurskey starting, the last couple weeks the line really started to shows signs of coming around, I wouldn't do anything to get them off their rhythm.

Same with Farrior. I think Foote the last two weeks has played better than Farrior was before he got hurt. It will be interesting to see how they divvy up the playing time there?

I think the loss of Arnaz Battle really showed last week. The Ravens had several good kick returns, two of which led to field goals. That's the first time this year that I remember us being hurt by kick returns.

The loss of Sanders is huge. The Steelers offense goes to a different level when Wallace, Brown, and Sanders are all healthy and on the field together.

I don't think Troy missing practice is anything to worry about.

I don't expect Woodley to play. We got to bite the bullet and do without him for one more game. Give him this game and the bye, and hopefully he'll be fully healed for the stretch run.

Between Cotcherty and Ward, I hope at least one of them is ready to go this Sunday.

Well, at least Legursky is a solid backup at center. The thought of Trai Essex at center is scary.

I'm surprised they picked up a DE and didn't move on a WR

Legurskey is a great swing man, he can go in and replace any of the interior linemen and get the job done. A very important man on the roster. But in my opinion Foster and Kemo are better players and should start and play when they can.

Hopefully them not activating or signing a receiver from off the roster means they have confidence that Ward, and or Cotcherty, will be ready to go and contribute Sunday.

I wanted Leg to start a few weeks ago, but better not mess with what's working. And yes he is a better backup in all interior positions than Essex anyway

Didn't really need Farrior against Brady and stopping Rice, but against the run heavy bengals I'm glad he's back

What a speedy recovery too after the initial diagnosis said out until December

The Steelers' situation at receiver looks better Friday than it did earlier this week.

Hines Ward and Jerricho Cotchery practiced Thursday and are expected both to play Sunday in Cincinnati.

Ward was knocked out of last week's loss to the Baltimore Ravens with concussion-like symptoms. Cotchery didn't practice Wednesday because of a knee injury.

"They're getting better, and it looks like they're going to make it," Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said.

The Steelers don't have much margin for injury at the position.

Emmanuel Sanders recently had minor knee surgery and is expected to miss two to three weeks. Arnaz Battle, the special teams captain, has yet to practice because of a hamstring injury.

>> Outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley did not practice again because of a hamstring injury and likely will miss his second consecutive game. He said he is "day to day."

Strong safety Troy Polamalu did not practice for a second consecutive day because of a rib injury, but it is not believed to be serious.

Inside linebacker James Farrior remains on track to return from a two-game absence. Farrior (calf) has practiced both days this week. Inside linebacker Stevenson Sylvester (knee) returned to practice after sitting out Wednesday.

Outside linebacker James Harrison was limited in practice Thursday with a toe injury.

>> Guard/center Doug Legursky (toe) practiced for the second consecutive day. He is on track to return Sunday but not necessarily to the starting lineup.

Arians said the Steelers will stick with the starting five they have used for the past three games, with Chris Kemoeau and Ramon Foster at guard.

Legursky will serve as the top backup at center and guard.

"Now we don't have to worry about (center Maurkice) Pouncey getting hurt quite as bad," Arians said.
