View Full Version : The Refs favor the Steelers? (Patriots forum)

Did anyone notice the terrible nocalls from the refs? Blantant Holding on almost every steelers snap on our d-lineman. The horsecolar tackle on grok. Polamolu tackling welker by the neck. Polomolu swatting the ball at the end right in front of the ref. The pats played a poor game and deserved to lose. But they seemed to get a lot of help. (Sorry in advance for my poor spelling.)

Who was it that spent the better part of a decade blatantly cheating, only to be slapped on the wrist for it and have the whole thing conveniently swept under the rug by a commissioner who is so far up Robert Kraft's ass that he'd wind up with a busted schnozz if Kraft ever makes a sharp turn? Care to remind me? :coffee:

Pat's fans have no problem forgetting about spygate.

They've now lost 3 consecutive postseason games since the cameras were turned off. Including two postseason games at home, where they're supposedly "unbeatable." Bears mentioning.

The biggest problem of patriots since the Spygate is the defense.

Brady is very dominant since 2007, but the defense is very bad.

If you read most of that thread you will find the majority took issue with officiating being the reason for the loss. I'm not going native ..... just reporting what I read.

There were bad calls and non-calls, but you can say that about most games. I will not blame a loss on bad calls. That is the Jets fans' mentality. If the Pats played good enough yesterday, they would have overcome any bad calls.

Let's not forget about that one play in the first half where their receiver (I think it was Branch) couldn't catch a badly thrown ball, and then turned around bitching for a flag, and whaddya know, they gave it to him. Or the free touchdown they gave them after wiping out the goal line stand. Or the bullshit late hit on Clark. Yeah, the refs were totally on our side.

Here's a good one off the Pats board:

"I Blame The Media For This Loss" -- LINK: http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/10/839083-i-blame-media-loss.html

I thought this was going to be one of those sarcastic "joke" threads, but I see that it's supposed to be serious. This is the kind of thread that gets linked on other boards..."See what Patriot Fans are saying about the loss...ha, ha, ha."

Lol...

Gotta love it when they're whining about all of the 'bad calls' against them but then insist that they're not blaming the refs for the loss.

I really like this one:

"There were a bunch of helmet to helmet hits by the steelers yesterday. Typical dirty play stuff from them."

Bunch of freaking whiney nancy boys over there.

One of the worst non-calls was AB's Pass Interference that went uncalled. Yet not a single Pat fan complaining about that one... Ironic.

Only losers bitch about the officiating.

and BTW, if the Hairboy knocks the ball into the endzone and the Steelers player fails to secure the ball while he is still in play, why the hell is it a safety?

stillers4me
10-31-2011, 05:50 PM
Well, the Steelers definitely got the memo. They decided that what they've been doing for the last few matchups wasn't going to cut it, and they pulled out all the new tricks they had.

Rodney Harrison telling everyone that could here him not to play zone against Brady didn't help.

Doh! Couldn't figure that one on our own!

If they would have "acted like they've been here before" back in 2001 or not used the "everyone else does it, so it's OK" excuse during the Spygate scandal, maybe I wouldn't hate those assbags so much. They brought it all on themselves. Just look at some of the other quotes above from those jackwagons...no, they aren't blaming the refs...as they whine about the refs. :jerkit: Eff 'em.

I knew the "Stealers" conspiracy theories would happen. I'm just surprised they didn't say that one play near the end was a TD. I know Bellycheat could have and should have thrown the red flag, but facts have never stopped the haters before so why would this time be any different?

They ALWAYS hold. There's a reason Brady more often than not gets 20 seconds to throw.

Funny think about the non-TD call is that you would think someone who relied so heavily on cameras to win championships would know when to use them in those type of situations

Considering that the Steelers had a lead the ENTIRE game that they never relinquished, how, exactly? They're just lucky the Steelers aren't better in the red zone than they are or the beatdown would have been more accurately reflected on the scoreboard than it was. The Steelers were very firmly in the driver's seat in that game from the opening kickoff on.

Branch acknowledged he gets away with some push-offs just as defenders do, but, "If I'm running around and I'm trying to come out of my break and his arm is standing there holding my jersey, that's different -- him tugging me as I'm running a route. I expect him to tug me and pull my arm. But if I'm breaking, that's different.

Yeah, everyone does it, right?? Branch didn't do jack in Seattle and he's only lucky that Randy Moss is a basket case otherwise, he'd be out of the league.
