Arizona outside linebacker Joey Porter has been quiet this week.

But, as Porter's coach pointed out Wednesday, it's early.

"I'm sure as we move through the week, the chatter will pick up," Cardinals coach and former Steelers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt said. "Joey's a fiery, emotional player."

The Steelers are well aware of that...............

I still love the guy and his passion for the game. He can talk all he wants, but the Steelers need to show up and dominate the game and scoreboard.

I'll always have love for JP! I'll never forget my first game in Pittsburgh after the titans whooped our asses we were all down in the parking lot washing away our pain with beer and Joey and his crew roll up in an Escalade and he was just hangin' out with us like one of the guys. Believe it or not he is an easy going quiet dude off the field. Who woulda' thunk? :noidea:

Actually, this is one week where I think Peezy won't be flapping his gums. He's always going to be a Steeler, no matter what jersey he's wearing.

Also, what can he say? He's going against the team in which he won his Super Bowl ring. We are 4-2, the Cardinals are 1-4. The Steelers played in the Super Bowl last season, the Cardinals didn't come close to the playoffs.

Really, what can he say?

Exactly! What does he have to talk about? He's just not that good of a player any more and he's on a bad team.

Someone needs to tell Whiz the following:

1. The 2005 season was a loooong time ago

2. When the Steelers release a player, it normally means his time as a productive player is over. Porter has one or two good seasons in Miami mixed in with bad ones. Now he doesn't have more than a good game or two a season in him. Maybe it's time Whiz stays away from former Steelers...they haven't worked out that well for him.

Peezy can't back up his trash talk anymore, that's why we haven't heard jack squat from him off the field in years. He talked trash back when he was a pro bowler and he usually backed up his trash talk

Joey Loved him when he played for us and wish him all the best when he's not playing against us. As was stated earlier he's not talkin' because he is and always will be a Steeler!!! He was the one Steeler who could run his mouth and then back it up. I never liked it when a Steeler talked trash but Joey was different.

I miss Joey. His time was over in the 'burgh but I miss his fire. There's going to be a lot of hugging going on before this game. :chuckle:

Always loved Joeys attitude.

I wouldn't be surprised if his chatter starts.

The Cards definitely need a shot in the ass and who better to give them one then someone who has actually been shot in the ass?
